How Posh celebrated her birthday:
Last year she was whisked off to Paris by hubby David, but it seems this year Posh decided to keep her birthday celebrations a bit more low-key. The star, who turned 34 yesterday, headed out on Wednesday with new BFFs Kate Beckinsale and Eva Longoria Parker – as well as David and Kate’s husband Len – to Eva’s posh LA eatery Beso. Looking striking in a blue dress and heels, Posh was seen smiling and giggling in the back of a car as the group left the restaurant and headed back to her Beverly Hills mansion for a further party. We reckon she definitely had a few to drink too (only the best Cristal champagne, obviously), because the next day she emerged with her sons looking a little worse for wear and drove straight to a drive-thru burger place. Now that’s the kind of behaviour we love hearing about. Happy (belated) Birthday Posh!
Madonna is now even richer
OK, so she is the Queen Of Pop, but even we were shocked when we heard how much Her Madgesty will be raking in for her latest gigs. The singing megastar is poised to sign a contract to perform two, yes TWO, gigs in Dubai for... Wait for it... £12MILLION *eyeballs pop out*. The Material Girl is currently putting the finishing touches to her plans for a world tour, with the lucrative dates in Dubai planned at the end in November. If you do the maths (and we did, even though it’s far too early for adding) then you’ll discover that the star will be earning a whopping £83,333 a minute! Not only this, the singer is rumoured to be considering an appearance at a further private party in the oil-rich state, for which she will earn another £5million. All this and the woman’s nearly 50! We know she’s amazing, but jeez... *takes out payslip. Works out earnings per minute. Sobs*
Jordan has a new number-one fan
When you ask normal people who their heroes are, you might expect to hear “Nelson Mandela” or “Gandhi” or perhaps even “Gordan Ramsay”, but not if you ask EastEnders’ actress Kara Tointon, no. Her “hero” is none other than everyone’s favourite busty, straight-talking model, Jordan. The actress, who plays dim barmaid Dawn in the Walford soap, admitted, “My character is so optimistic. She is a girl who believes in herself, but sometimes I read the script and think ‘Oh no’ – so I look at the way Jordan reacts to stuff.” And she doesn’t stop her gushing there, continuing, “Nothing seems to be a problem for her – everything is positive.” It looks as if Jordan might be getting even more thanks soon, as EastEnders has been nominated for an award at this weekend’s Baftas. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Kara got up on stage and thanked the booby one in her acceptance speech?
TV Trisha opens up about cancer battle
Daytime TV legend Trisha Goddard has spoken for the first time about her battle with breast cancer. In an emotional interview, Trisha said she was “overwhelmed” when she was diagnosed and admitted she initially kept the worrying news from her two daughters. “When I finally told my girls they were in floods of tears,” she admitted. The 50-year-old, who was given the all clear from the disease on Wednesday, but may still have to face a gruelling session of Chemotherapy, hailed her husband Peter as being her rock throughout the treatment, saying “The man is just incredible. He is strong but he has also cried, he has made me laugh, he has cuddled me and was there telling me it was OK.” She also said that Kylie had been an inspiration to her, “She has helped me because, unknowingly, I had read so much about breast cancer.” Trisha is now on the road to a full recovery, and we wish her all the best.
