This Witch doesn't burn

No and its just whoever 'reported' him saying it, so basically anyone can be sacked now for something they might have done years ago which no one cared enough about to report at the time, but it suits them now as they can get two fresh faces.....

oh I think I might know who reported John now
![]() John, 59, is married to actress Lisa Faulkner, 53, with the couple presenting John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen on ITV. While John has remained mostly tight-lipped on his former co-star Wallace's behaviour on-set, his wife has spoken out about what she witnessed on the show. Last December, she claimed that the presenter made 'rude joke after rude joke' during her time on MasterChef. Wallace was said to be deeply upset that John and Lisa didn't support him when allegations first surfaced, and has since unfollowed the couple on Instagram. But John and Lisa's bond doesn't appear to have been shaken by the disaster unfolding behind the scenes of MasterChef, as they focus on their own joint television project which recently launched its tenth series. https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebri...-life-35557310 Wonder if ITV will keep him on....

there have been all sorts of stories about Torode over the years, so this really isn't a new revelation. I think with these type of shows, the BBC has very little day to day involvement. All the work is contracted out to a production company. I honestly think the issue here is the BBC really messed up at the concert they were in full control of, so they are now saying to the public ..... look over there it's much more interesting

Nice but dim Tim has had his say
BBC director-general Tim Davie has condemned the “serious racist term” used by presenter John Torode, after it was announced his contract on MasterChef will not be renewed. Australian-born Torode, 59, started presenting MasterChef alongside Gregg Wallace in 2005. On Monday night, Torode confirmed he was the subject of an allegation of using racist language that was upheld as part of a review carried out by law firm Lewis Silkin into the alleged behaviour of his co-presenter Wallace. Torode broke his silence on his sacking on social media this evening. In an interview with BBC News on Tuesday, Davie said he saw the situation as an opportunity for the corporation to “reset”. He said he was not directly involved with the matter but was told about the recommendation not to renew Torode’s contract and was “happy that the team were taking action” He went on: “It’s really important that we are taking this seriously. It’s a reset where we make sure that people are living up to the values we expect across the board.” https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknew...0cbd003a&ei=22

Quand il pleut, il pleut

…the BBC/Masterchef producers are the ones who look worst/awful in this as it’s taken them 7 years to take action on something that they deemed to be ‘extremely offensive’…

Imo the BBC should be in trouble for damaging someone's reputation with zero evidence.

yeah I said this yesterday, Sky reported it as being at work, when it had previously been reported as a social situation, its a complete stitch up and apart from that he found out on social media he had been sacked, what a great way to treat long standing members of the 'BBC family'

at the end of the day, they aren't sacking him, they are just not renewing his contract, so the whole thing is being done to distract

Because at least if they were sacking him, it would make sense as to why they're trying to assassinate his character. But not technically sacking him whilst accusing him of something without a shred of evidence is a low blow from the BBC. They honestly need to provide some proof, otherwise heads should roll imo. We have Defamation laws for a reason.
