That is one the many things I don't like about this bill.
I find it extremely concerning.

If someone’s in constant pain, terminally ill, and wants to go on their own terms, I don’t see why they shouldn’t be allowed to. It’s their life – or what’s left of it – and forcing them to suffer just seems cruel.

But I also get why people worry about it being abused. Vulnerable people might feel pressured into it, and that’s a real risk. It needs proper rules in place so no one ends up being pushed into it for the wrong reasons.

So I’m for it, but only with strict safeguards.

I've always thought this particular bill does NOT have the basic, never mind essentially vital safeguards to protect more vulnerable.
It has been watered down too as to what was said at the start was really important as to safeguards.

This bill is not one I could ever support and on this I'm really glad the House of Lords are really analysing it and exposing the very big security problems with it.

They have the right to do that, it's a backbenchers private member's bill NOT a government bill, which has passed House of Commons votes but with decreasing majorities.
So that Observer front page is really pathetic in my opinion.
I'm definitely more with the House of Lords on this very sensitive, worrying and important issue.
