…I read this article/words from the mother of Maya Gebala, who was critically injured in the shooting…it’s quite a long article so I’ll post the link to its entirety but just her own words/thoughts atm of Jesse Van Rootselaar …

’Edmonds says she watched the single mother, who she said worked long shifts at a nearby mine, fight to help her child.

Edmonds says at one point, Van Rootselaar tried to light a mattress on fire "and burn the house down." She said the teen had been hospitalized several times with mental health issues.

"People are trying to politicize what this is about," Edmonds said "It's not about guns. It's not about [being trans] ... It's about mental health. It's about a lack of resources."

"[Strang] really — I truly believe that in her heart — did everything she could to try to help … I know that she struggled."

Maybe its time to put more resources into mental health which also ties into in some cases people trying to transition ...just a thought

I am not sure why the authorities thought it safe to leave a teen who had tried to burn down their home there with no help, and as for access to guns whose were they and why were they accessible to this kid

They also said guns had been confiscated from the home previously, but that they were returned once the legal owner petitioned to get them back. It was unclear who the legal owner was.
