Thumbs down

First week back after a 9 week summer recess and the SNP are devoting an
entire afternoon ⁦@ScotParl ⁩ to discussing Gaza. A total waste of Parliamentary
time when there are so many issues under Holyrood’s remit to debate.

BBC : Who are the winners and losers
from the Scottish budget?

I have picked the :

[The losers

In terms of losers, the plan for a "mansion tax"
in Scotland was one of the more eye-catching
announcements in the budget.

A budget of £5m has been put aside for a
"targeted revaluation" of certain properties,
in a bid to create two new council tax bands
targeting houses worth more than £1m in 2027.]

In desperation, polling in the gutter, he finally says what an opposition leader
with even half a brain would and should have said five years ago.

Nicola Sturgeon’s estranged husband has reportedly been accused of embezzling £460,000 of SNP finances to fund a luxury spending spree.

Peter Murrell is alleged to have used party money to buy cars, shoes, jewellery, cosmetics and a motorhome over 12 and a half years.

The former SNP chief executive is said to have bought the motorhome from an English firm for £125,000 and shipped it to his mother’s home in Dunfermline.

Mr Murrell, 61, who split from the former first minister last year, is accused of creating “false” sales documents “to portray the purchase as a legitimate party expense”, according to court papers seen by The Sun.

The allegations have emerged in a charge sheet outlining eight embezzlement allegations Mr Murrell faces at the High Court in Glasgow next week.

He is accused of embezzling £459,046.49 of party funds between Aug 12 2010 and Jan 13 2023.
