When I was about 13 the whole school practically had to go out and stand on the school field and watch Andrew’s helicopter land (he was heading to some factory nearby for a tour or whatever it is they do when “Royals” visit).

We were all told to be on our best behaviour but loads of kids started flagging the helicopter and heckling him. Headteacher nearly had a coronary. We all collectively got in huge trouble after but, knowing what we know now.. good..

It really is striking how the palace refers to him as “Mr Mountbatten‑Windsor” in official statements. You forget sometimes that the King and Prince William are his own brother and nephew, because the tone of those releases is so cold. But then again, he’s been denying and deflecting for years, so it’s not surprising that the language has become formal and distant.

And honestly, the whole situation just highlights what a pair of grifters he and Fergie turned out to be.

they have been grifters now for a very long time. I believe that is why the public turned on them originally. People who have every privilege in the world, out to scam all they can get

William was right to be angry. Andrew could have brought down the monarchy and Harry isn't much better

…I feel for Eugenie and Beatrice and how they’re so caught up in the middle of this ‘disgrace divide’ between their parents and more extended family…none of any of it has been through their choice, has it and the view of their parents that the public has …and the law has, isn’t what they feel, I would imagine…their mental health must be so shaken right now also…

Sir Keir Starmer has said "nobody is above the law" when asked about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, but declined to say whether the former prince should volunteer himself to UK police.

The prime minister told BBC Breakfast the principle was "very important" and "has to apply in this case in the same way it would in any other case".
