Can someone explain to me the whole Newt and Eli thing?

I get some bits like its in his imagination but there are some bits I am just like eh what!

Anyway care to give a summary?

He's got a split personality. In reality Eli would be coming from Newt but I think to make it easier and so they can add in a twist later on they've brought in another actor to show what Eli is like.

Its not in his imagination, its like having 2 people trapped in the same body and both take over the body at different (and random) times.

You'll probably find a few clips on youtube if you want to see what he would be like. Put multiple personality disorder in if you want to see something.

There's further heartache in store for Hollyoaks' Osborne family in August when Newt is diagnosed with schizophrenia. Over the past few weeks Newt's friendship with Eli has intensified and viewers have recently discovered that 'Eli' isn't real. And whilst Newt's fixation with his imaginary friend continues, his mental health has deteriorated.

It really annoys me that storyline, just Newt as character actually makes me want to cry.

I hate him. I know it's sad to hate a character but I find him the worst character to ever be on a soap. The actor isn't very good as well.
I wish this storyline would end cos I really i'm beginning to become tiresome of him.

Hopefully Newt will end up in mental home and we wont see him again.

I like Newt personally, I don't think there's long left until someone finds out about Newt's condition I don't think. It'll come to a head soon.

i think this storyline as spoilt Newt for me, he just annoys me now

When Newt first came into Hollyoaks, he was really sweet and I liked him, now he's annoying

I have stopped liking Newt recently since he turned all nuts since seeing that dead body of Sean. Since that is when this Eli character came about? Anyone remember?

So maybe we should have seen it since then. Btw I am actually really proud of myself for just remembering this fact before 9am on a saturday morning!

Agreed. The viewers haven't had any chance to like him as a character and therefore cannot care less about this storyline. Such a cringey character to watch.
