Default Big Brother\'s fortunes turn?

After a long stretch of very bad ratings for BB, including those for BB8, BBCH and the first few weeks of BB9. It looks as though the ratings maybe making a small, slow but significant step in the right direction. Less than a week ago the show was getting it's lowest ratings of the series, however that's starting to change.

On Monday, it got the highest monday ratings of the series so far (3.3 million overnights).

On Tuesday, it got the best tuesday ratings in six weeks (3.5 million overnights)

On Wednesday, it got the highest wednesday ratings of the series (3.4 million overnights)

BBLB even managed to double it's ratings when Zezi was ditched on Tuesday.

Now, it's had 1-2 day spikes before during this series. But not one lasting three days in a row (correct me if I'm wrong).

Whilst the show will never recover completely without a major revamp or proper break, this is a good sign. And maybe it will continue throughout this series to grow slowly. We'll have to wait and see.

Lets hope they can up the quite disappointing series average of 3.2 by a hundred thousand or two before the series is out.

On Wednesday, it won the 9pm timeslot, the first time since launch I believe.

Which just goes to prove that the evicted HMs were NOT the big players and veiwing attraction that Puke,Dull and Spew keep telling us they were.

It probably only won Wednesday because a lot never knew it was on at 9pm but a lot of casual viewers found it. 0.5m watched on C4+1 compared to the normal 0.1m-0.3m.

I don't think we'll ever get a series even beating BB6 but I still think it can recover. Tonights eviction should do well with the amount that are up.

BB6? BB6's ratings were down were they not? I remember articles slagging the show off that year because it didn't live up to BB5?

Plus, you'd think the different timeslot would have meant less viewers, not more. The fact that 500,000 bothered to turn over to c4+1 and watch it later, rather just not watch it shows that interest may be slowly returning to the show.

Also what do you mean by recover? Because when I say recover I mean go back up to the viewers of yesteryear. I don't think it will ever do that. One because less people watch terrestrial tv now (as rzt on digital spy pointed out) and two because the format is old and a little tired.

I'm just glad to see the ratings up and not down for once.

BB6 was the lowest rated series until BB8 came along. Thats why I said 'even'. When I mean recover I mean it consistently getting 4.5m+ per night barring Saturdays but thats not going to happen, even if the show went to ITV.

The 500,000 are more likely to have turned over because they expected the show to be on at 10pm on Channel 4 but found it was on at 9pm.

The ratings for last night's eviction and post eviction show are in. 3.6 mil (with a 4.2 mil peak towards the end) for the first show and 3.0 mil (with a 3.8 mil peak 20 minutes in) for the second show. Due to the second show 10 mins early climax, it lost 600,000 in the average. Without that 10 minute early climax, it would have managed 3.6 mil (the same as the first show) which would have been excellent. Whilst the ratings are down on last week's eviction, it won the slot for both shows, suggesting it was down to less people watching tv rather than big brother.

The share for the first show was 1% down on bex (probably due to the twist only being known to bblb viewers and forumers) but the second show had the same share as last week.

Well done BB.

Yeah and it won Thursday night as well.

I don't know why they keep ending it too early.. I mean it always seems like they're rushing the interview and Davina's trying to get as much in as possible. They could easily extend the interview and the live feed at the end. 10 mins of LF would probably be better than ending 10mins too soon.

If people get evicted...life goes on.

You forget people well quick in a couple of weeks anyhow - so the argument of voting off big characters is okay as BB have twists and can bring people out there shells etc.

Remember there the TV professionals who know how to strategise good television!

I doubt it will go too much higher before the end of the series. But, at least it's showing some sort of small increase towards the end so channel 4 remember it's importance.
