Desmond Morris likens Big Brother to a doghouse


Desmond Morris says the Big Brother 3 house is like Battersea Dogs Home.

He says the defining moment of the series so far was when Sandy urinated into the kitchen waste bin.

The anthropologist said it was like "a rogue dog leaving its personal scent mark".

Morris likens Kate to "a delightful golden retriever" and suggests her temperament and looks could win her the series.

He said: "I think the defining moment of this year's offering so far was when wild escapee Sandy left a farewell liquid deposit, deliberately peeing into the housemates' kitchen waste bin.

"It was so much like a rogue dog cocking its leg to leave its personal scent-mark, that it dawned on me that watching this new Big Brother house is rather like paying a visit to the Battersea Dogs Home."

He goes on to call Alex the "fretter" greyhound because of his incessant whining.

According to Morris, Adele is "the muscle-rippling, sleek-bodied Doberman" and PJ is "the cheerfully scruffy, randy bull-terrier".

Tim is "the once-proud show-poodle", while Jade is "the gallumphing, big-mouth rottweiler".

Morris calls Jonny "the retired rescue dog, so highly trained to be helpful that he is now constantly worried about his inability to perform inside the doghouse".

But he retains his compliments for Kate, or in his words "the appealing golden retriever, a pedigree breed with a perfect temperament".

I thought this was quite clever and accurate! Of course I particularly liked his description of Kate.

The others made me laugh too, especially Alex the greyhound and PJ the bull terrier.
