Default What other channel could Big Brother go to?

After BB11 channel 4 do not own big brother (as of yet), but which channel would it go to? itv1, bbc1/2, five, a digital tv channel or a sky tv channel. i think channel 4 will renew the contract or itv will put in a big bid for it.

If it goes to anyone else other than CH4, I'll stop watching.

It will be between C4 and ITV again. It still is C4's highest rating show and ITV have shown interest for a few years now.

I'd say the contract renewal will be a battle between those two channels.

Maybe five might take it on. They need some good ratings.

I think it's very likely that C4 will renew it's contract!

I think that Channel 4 will fight for it, as it is their highest rating show.

If not, I'd say ITV is most likely to get it.

I doubt Sky One would get it - Hijack showed that BB will never be as popular on digital channels.

Its very likely that Channel 4 will renew it, they felt the force of the absense of Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, that was 4 weeks long. They aren't going to want to get rid of a guaranteed 3m+ viewers for over 100 days per year are they? If it went to ITV1 I'd fear for the shows future because the minute it under performs for ITV1 is the minute its axed and moved into a graveyard slot until the end of the series. ITV1 will have no loyalty with the show because they have loads of other shows which rate above it. However if it went to ITV1 we could be seeing series averages of 5m+ again.

C4 will renew it, no CBB ruined the start of the year for them and the share for January was the worst for C4 in some years. So it would be even worse if there was no mains series.
A digital channel wouldn't pick it up because as Matt said Hijack showed Big Brother isn't popular for a digital channel.
ITV would probably bid because it does better than most of the stuff thats it shows in the 9pm/10pm slots now and their Friday ratings could do with a boost. It would probably do well on ITV1 and the weekend ratings would increase because of its strong line-up but as soon as there was a poor series of a week of bad ratings ITV would move it around the schedules and even axe it
BBC would never go for it, its not their type of show and they couldn't justify spending the licence fee on Big Brother
Five would bid for it and might even be successful. They are starting to bid for a few shows which will cost them lots like Premiership highlights, Uefa Cup, soaps and a few US shows, so I could really see them bidding for it as it would boost the rest of their schedule.

When the rights are for sale it will be a 3 way battle between ITV1, C4 and Five. With C4 or Five probably winning

ITV would ruin it. Evictions would be moved to Saturdays, Ant and Dec would probably present and everything would revolve around countless competitions and bad graphics.

As for five, well they have the budget for a whole series that C4 would spend on the show in a week

I could only imagine it on 4. It's Channel 4's show, and it's their main source of income.

They'll fight to the death to keep Big Brother.

I'd vote for Five since, Channel 4 is such a good channel. C4 could easily put other more intersting stuff in place of BB. Five whilst having an inferior budget initially would make it more about the interactions and not OTT tasks. After the first "Five" series i'm sure their budget for the show would be comparable to that of C4's.
