Out of these artists/bands who have been around for a while, who deserves to finally gain a number 1 UK single? (All have been close to a number 1, but always just missed out)

Girls Aloud. Every single they have released deserved #1 without a doubt.

![]() Either way, nearly everyone in that list deserves a number #1 much more than half the rubbish that gets there nowadays. Voted for Green Day. Truly. Amazing. |

If that is not the most pathetic statement I've heard in the past five years, I don't know what is.

&&KKBL, Most of those artists have been successful in both? Moreso albums, which would be the opposite of what you said. |

They have better sales with their albums though, more people buy their music for a whole album not a few singles, like eg. Girls Aloud, who most people buy an occasional song of theirs but don't buy their album. Again for e.g. Alanis Morissette has had one of the biggest Selling Albums ever worldwide (Jagged Little Pill), yet her highest ever single in the charts was 'Thank U', which eneterd the top 5 with 4 other new entries (a record breaker) and only managed to be number 5. |
