Default Sixth Form Help x

Hi, i know alot of you on here have or already are at sixth form atm, so i thought id ask my questions on here. This year im applying for sixth form as i do not yet know what i would like to study in college. So far i havent actually applied which is sort of bad. However tonight ive sent off 2 emails asking for application forms to two sixth forms. I was just wondering how many sixth forms you may of applied to and how many you reccomend. I dont want to go over the top but i dont want to apply for so little that i actually end up with no placement.. Thanks in advance x

Erm, I just gave in a thing to my school.

And then at the last minute i sent one in to another school and had an interview
and the same with another one.

I put lots of them like : maths/english as i didn';t know at the time.
They don't expect you to have your whole life planned out yet.. just a general idea

The more the better.
Just don't get your subjects mixed up like a mate of mine did [when asked what he was taking in an interview, he listed the subjects he'd applied for at a different one]

I personally only applied to one 6th form and 2 colleges, but there was only 1 course i wanted to do [and i got it ha]

Just write those three and then at the end write the two subjects you're thinking of

for me sixth form really wasn't a big deal.. it's uni you have to worry about

You should get accepted into all of the college's really easy, as long as you aren't taking a course that needs talent (Music Technology, Performing Arts)... then they will audition you. If you get over 5 A*-C's and have no outstanding absences you will get in no problem. Just be enthusiastic.

Im like an expert on colleges haha, I'm on my third one now. But I've never been turned down for a college... so I wouldn't worry about it. All of mine have been sixth forms, but I do reccomend you choose your courses wisely, and look at the colleges properly.

In my first college the problem was I was doing A levels, and I didnt wanna sit in a classroom all day... so I changed to a BTEC at my second college.
But then I didnt like the college... and moved to my third, which is perfect.

So be careful!
You have the luxury too choose where you want to go...

You'll get in, all colleges accept everyone as long as you meet the minimum requirements. Anyone who says otherwise (e.g. teachers) are just trying to scare you to make you show off to the colleges, which isn't necessary at all.

My old college have been taking on too many lately, when I started my second year it was an extra 200, and if I was still there (in my third year) I've heard they've let in an extra 300. I'm sure its not the only one like that ...

Apply to as many as you want, the more you apply for the more choice you will have when it comes to making a final decision
and as Tom said as long as you meet the minimum needed you will get in easy
