Default Do you think this is acceptable?

The above is a picture of Katy Perry holding a knife to her face to promote her album One of the Boys.
This issue has been raised recently, and many people have said that it is giving people a bad example when using a knife to promote her music. But what do you think, do you think it's acceptable or not?

I think it's only become an issue because she's hosting the EMAs here in Liverpool, and it reflects the huge issue with knife crime here in the UK. I personally don't think people would give a **** if she wasn't working here soon.

Meh... the same problem arisen when madonna had Gun shaped stiletto's on... its to make them look more edgy, suppose it is a bit unacceptable. Never really thought about it if im honest! Then again... Katy Perry is known for her not following the rules!

I don't see what the issue is? It's a knife, and her face. If she was making some kind of overt cutting gesture, then yeah, it'd be offensive, but that picture's nothing IMO.

Over-reaction brought on by media sensationalism.

These shots were done in 2005 in America, she's making no threatening manuever with the knife it's simply there in the picture. What's there to complain about? the UK is getting pathetic with it's softness to everything. It isn't down to these pictures that knife crime is on the rise nor Madonna's choice of footwear the cause of gun crime. the UK has become a place reliant on Scapegoats rather then solutions.

This country needs to regrow it's backbone and learn to deal with it's problems instead of blaming it on a girl who's been known in this country for all of five minutes.

Acceptable. Knife crime is nowhere near as bad as the media are making out. Anyone with half a brain cell will have enough common sense to not think "oh shes got a knife, I'll get one too".

ACCEPTABLE.
for goodness sake, the picture wasn't even to promote One Of The Boys. It was taken back in 2005, and was inspired by the film 'A Clockwork Orange'. When you know why it was taken, it removes all meaning.
I've seen worse pictures than this. It's old, and stupid media trying to bring it up to fit current headlines to make her look bad.

I saw this picture months ago, just before she became famous and didn't have a problem with it then, and still don't.

Is she also suggesting that she will becoming "one of the boys" by carrying a knife around?

Is their a reason for her to hold the knife?

This picture is just pointless and I doubt someone will go get a knife just because Katie Perry had one on a promotional picture.

The media blow everything out of proportion, especially negativity.

Its amazing how much the news and newspapers actually do to scare people into thinking situations are worse than they are.
