Default Some Saw questions

Okay so I'm having a movie night on Halloween and we decided that for a horror we'd watch Saw (neither of us have seen it and someone told me it's good for a horror film). The only problem is that what with it being Halloween and it being one of the more well known horror films, we mightn't be able to rent it out.

Saw II was on C4 last night and I recorded it but was just wondering;; is it as good as the first one and do you need to have seen the first one to get the second one?

Any suggestions for other films are welcome also.

well if u watch saw 2 without watching saw you will understand the film perfctly.
they explain everything you need to know i like kind of flashback sequences.
they do refrence the first one slightly but you dont need to know them to understand the second.
BTW IMO the second 1 is the best out of all 4

Thanks for that, sorry, horror films aren't really my thing so I'm pretty clueless on them!

Its not scary, just very gruesome. I have the first one and watched the 2nd last night on TV by myself alone in the house as my dad was round my cousins house and my sister was out in London, and I was like Eurghhh and started to talk to myself so i didnt get too scared haha

you could watch Saw II without seeing one as they do explain what happened in one. Its the best of them all and probably the scariest
