Default I\'m so happy...
My mum went to the surgeon last week and he told her he COULD conduct 3 ops on her... and even better, she might be able to walk again! She has not been able to walk for ~25 years.

It hasn't really sunk in yet. As you can imagine, it's weird of me even contemplate my mum walking when I've never seen it!


My dad is buying her a puppy of any breed she wants, cos when they were first married they'd go on long walks with the dogs.

Yeah, I'm still not quite believing it.
I mean, the surgeon explicitly said she'll have full mobility but I'm still being wary. However, we know for a fact she'll be in a lot less pain and be more mobile than now = so no matter what happens it's amazing!

Her first 2 operations are in January, then the final is in March.

Wow they sound so enthusiastic and positive about the outcome for these operations. I know she will need a lot of physio to deal with muscle waste from being immobile for so long but it really sounds like it is happening

Thank you very much everyone

I'll let you all know how the operations go.
Just after xmas she has to have a cast on her leg for 3 weeks so it manually cracks and straightens the bone. It won't be pretty but she knows it's worth it.
