Nicola McLean: 'I'm ready for I'm A Celeb now I've done my roots, nails and a few sunbeds... I don't want to look pale in the jungle' In the middle of a jungle surrounded by giant bugs may not seem the place to be worrying about how you look.
But when the cameras are rolling a true high maintenance glamour girl is never caught without her face on.
I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here! contestant Nicola McLean has admitted to spending hundreds of pounds on beauty treatments because she is scared of not looking her best.
The former Page 3 girl, who has a two-year-old son with Peterborough United footballer Tommy Williams, said: 'I got my roots done, my nails done and I had a few sunbeds, which I know is naughty but no-one wants to be pale in the jungle.
'I also had my eyelashes tinted. I’m quite confident in my body. I’ve had a baby, so I’ve got a few stretch marks, but who cares?'
The 25-year-old WAG previously starred in the TV show Help! I've Got A High Maintenance Wife and it seems she's living up to her reputation.
We won't be seeing Nicola without her make-up in the jungle as she admitted even boyfriend Tommy has never seen her go bare-faced.
She said: 'For me, it’s an insecurity issue rather than a vanity issue. I’m always in a lot of make-up. I don’t ever allow anyone to see me without make-up on.
'Even just mascara will be the least amount of make-up Tom has seen me wearing.
'That’s something I’m really struggling with. I’ve never been barefaced in years. I gave birth in a full face of make-up.
'I think it’s good for women to make an effort and look good. With frizzy hair and no straighteners, I’m not going to look amazing in there – but I’ll try my best.'
The show hosted by Ant and Dec returns for the eighth time to the Queensland jungle for two weeks of trials and tests.
This year the show features Brian Paddick, Carly Zucker, Dani Behr, Esther Rantzen, George Takei, Joe Swash, Martina Navratilova, Nicola McLean, Robert Kilroy-Silk and Simon Webbe.
