Default Help on home music recording?
Does anybody know if there's a microphone I can buy to plug into my laptop, to record music and edit it.

I don't know about microphones, but you can edit recordings with software like Audacity.

Depends how serious you are about it and how much you want to spend. I know a podcaster who is a ex-singer and knows about these thing and he swears that the Zoom H2 is one of the best microphones about.
