Davina McCall has admitted that she does not know if Big Brother will be on the air in three years' time.

The show's host revealed that she wants the programme to end on a high rather than "dying a painful death" after losing popularity with viewers.

McCall also confirmed that she is hoping to find a new TV project before the Channel 4 reality show reaches its final series.

"Look, I'm under no illusions. It's the 10th anniversary next year. I'd love it to carry on for another three years but I don't know if it will," McCall told The Mirror.

"So I'd like to find something else that fits me as well. I'd probably say that we'd all walk away together. I'd like to think the producers would come to me a good year before the show finished and end on a high, rather than let it die a painful death. I'd only leave if it was dying on its feet. But it's not doing that."

She added: "I feel I'm an intrinsic part of Big Brother. I'd be really upset if I saw someone else presenting it. One of the reasons I planned all my pregnancies around the show is because I don't want anyone else to do it."

She has a point though and I know Davina's career is dying on its arse along with Big Brother, I hope she gets Blind Date when ITV bring that back, that would be suited to her even though I won't watch it

I wish they'd have Blind Date with Cilla again, she was a legend, or just show repeats on a channel every day or every week.

It really needs to take a break. C4 need to make some deal so that Endemol don't sell it on. BB should take a year break after BB10, maybe just CBB7 in 2010.

Currently C4 are committed to Celeb BB and BB10 next year and BB11 in 2010 - and then if things don't seriously improve next year I think it'll be time to call time on the series. Celebrity Big Brother really is make or break in term of getting the viewers back.

I don`t want them to cut it off while im still such a massive fan.I don`t understand these people who think it should be ended now or ended in a few years.BB is different every year becuase of the different housemates that make the show,the format will never get boring for me its hms that make or break a series and there just the luck of the draw,some years are good some aren`t,theres no reason to end it altogether.
