Default Take That declare war on Britney Spears: \"We don\'t see the point of her anymore\"

Pop veterans Take That have slapped a custard pie straight in Britney Spears’ face.

Their albums – both called Circus – went head-to-head this week and so far Take That are making it look trap-easy.

The lads broke the record for first-day sales – shifting 133,000 copies – and are sitting pretty at No1 in the midweek charts.

Britney, meanwhile, is at No3 – and her disastrous X Factor mime act on Saturday would have done her few favours.

Gary Barlow and Howard Donald saw it, open-mouthed along with the rest of the nation, and have seized the chance to let her have both barrels.

Speaking at the international launch of their new album in Paris, Gary told us: “I don’t see the point of Britney anymore, she was rubbish on the show. I think she’s more famous than she deserves to be now.”

And that’s from one of pop’s nice guys...

The week before Britney’s “silent night”, Take That performed live on the X Factor and Gary went on: “Why come on a show like that and mime? I don’t like her new song either. Her old stuff was great but maybe she should have spent more time on this one.”

A bit catty, Gary!

“But I listen to more bands now anyway, like Kings of Leon and Coldplay,” sniffed Gary. “I don’t really listen to many pop acts.”

Swigging beer next to him, Howard was a tad gentler towards their chart rival.

He said: “The truth is all the contestants on X Factor are so talented and were able to sing and dance live, so why couldn’t Britney do it? It’s the whole point of the show and her miming looked stupid. It’s not that she can’t do it, Britney is really talented and can sing – I just don’t think she understood the show.

“I think probably she was made to do it as a promotional opportunity in England. Britney is unlikely to have had a lot of say in it. The contestants did a better job than her. I’m glad she’s back but X Factor wasn’t right for her.”

To show Britney how it’s done, the boys played a fantastic LIVE gig at Paris VIP Room on Monday night.

They invited us along to the circus-themed gig along with a select crowd of friends and fans. Then it was time to party. Mark Owen made a beeline for us – the honorary godmums of his new daughter Willow Rose.

We bet she’s in good voice... unlike Britney.

Um, actually that's not true lol. Britney's Womanizer has sold well over a million copies in th US alone, only two months o release and Blackout last year sold 3.8 million copies. Britney has success worldwide whilst TT are really only big in UK/some parts of Europe.

Britney's still selling more CD's than them even when she isn't as big as she once was. TT are British so obviously they'd get massive support in the UK charts.

TT aren't exactly lying. She did mime. I'm annoyed they said there's no point in her because I don't agree and it's not true. I dislike them more now though lol.

Britney is a has-been. She was over five years ago. There's no need for her. She's got about one thousand fans, out of a population of billions. Anyone can sing her crap songs. Anyone but Britney.

LMAO Britney has a MASSIVE fanbase. You're under-estimating her career right there. Britney is at the top of the world right now, hardly a hasbeen? In her defence, weren't TT absolutely huge everywhere in the 90s, broke up and got back together about 10 years later? I'm sure that's an actual definition of a 'has-been' in some senses.

I'm not going to insult them but you really couldn't be more wrong.

Britney Spears aged 27.

Gary Barlow aged 37.
Mark Owen age 36.
Howard Donald aged 40.
Jason Orange aged 38.

Britney has atleast 23 more years in music if she continues on.
I give Take That another 5.

Then we'll see who's laughing when TT are watching Britney perform when they're sat in their own urine.

and don't hate I love both B and TT.

Not really the definition of a has been because of how wlel they have done with their come back in recent years, if they had come back and failed they would be.

To be honest, I really don't see the point in Take That ever coming back. They were good once, and had there day.. Britney's days are still living. I'm not denying TT are still very successfull and have a huge fanbase but over-sea's..Britney Spears..Take Who?

The have a bit of a cheek calling Britney for miming and saying the show's about singing because just a few weeks ago.. the X-Factor contestants themselves mimed thereselvs through their Hero song. Same as SD etc.. but the fact that it's Britney Spears it's more under the spotlight.. she's a human (just realised I sounded like Chris Crocker there[lolll]).

I don't class Britney as a has been. She sells and she is still going strong. TT have also had an amazing return and are now more successful than they ever were.

*sighs*

Age is but a number..... TT have been far more succesful this time around then the first time. Fastest ever selling tour, biggest pre-ordered album ever,3 Number 1's,3 Brits,an Ivor Novello,3 sell-out tours etc etc.

And TT are big everywhere but America. Although I did mention to my aunt in America when the boys were over there that they were over there and she's 50 something and she said she knew who they were, and loads of people she knew did.

Britney is succesful,I just don't think TT were happy that she didn't sing live on a show where the contestants sing live every week, and they dance and sing at the same time all the time on tour so that's not an excuse.

I'M NOT SLATING BRITNEY! I like her,I'm just saying.

Before I say this... please note I like them both just as much as each other.

But Britney may also be known across the world because of her social life. She was with Justin. She went crazy. She got married randomly. She got married again. Shes had her kids taken away from her. She shaved her head. Shes been in rehab etc etc etc

She is always in the papers for something so she is bond to be known world wide.

TT kinda keep themselves to themselves and dont really do any of this. They are better this time than they were first and I dont know why they would say anything about Britney cos they have no right to publically slate someone who is already going through so much.

But people are saying Take Who? And maybe they aint that known because TT aint in tabloids 24/7.
