Wrong housemates- Too many people were thinking about BB2 housemates, I thought these were alright

I think its a case of too much money, too little thought but the lame tasks and the bars made a bad situation worse.

Its was hyped as being tougher than ever, blah blah, but by tough, they just meant, "lets get 12 people in a house and bore them to death live on national TV". The housemates haven't bonded as a group like they have in previous years and so there is no sence of comeradery. At the moment, its just 5 people sitting there wishing the next week away. The tasks have been crap. BB producers say its because they wanted the tasks to actually mean something, well they could have. Tell them what the task is mid week, make it hard and test them live on saturday. Make it all or nothing as far as food goes and then you've got your meaning in it and it makes them work for it.

In my opinion, the bars just divided them even more than they all ready were and didn;t help the overall downturn of the programme.

So there! Just my ramblings................

I was torn between voting for the divide and lame tasks. I voted "divide" because it changed the nature of BB and turned it into BTB (Big torture brother)

The tasks were in general hopelessly lame.

Definitely the "lame tasks".

Something along the lines of the fire task which the BB2 housemates had would have ensured that they bonded with each other right from the start.

Then, whatever else Channel 4 threw at them, at least they'd all have been pulling together as a team.

I voted for the divide, because that gave the opportunity for the people who wanted to use "divide and rule" to survive, the opportunities to build their little factions on either side of the divide, thus encouraging bitching. C4 knew what they were doing and knew it would get the viewing figures up, but real fans from previous series knew it was not the same.

I also think the half-hour task spot was bad, as this meant there was less team bonding which you get with tasks that had to be practiced over a number of days.

But back to the bars and the bitching. I have supported those people who stayed outside of the bitching (eg Jonny, Kate) against those who revelled in it (Alex, Adele, Sandy. Tim). Has anyone noticed, though, how Alex was "King of the Castle" whilst the divide was up, but as soon as it became 6 on the poor side, then the divide came down, Jonny took over. It is as if Alex enjoys divisiveness, and Jonny prefers unity.

Their behaviour over the last few days confirms this.

Did anyone here the conversation late last night with Jonny and Kate after the Jade conflict was over!

Jonny admitted to Kate that he has not been his true self. On the outside he said he always wins arguments and always leads. He said he would have been voted out on week 3 if he had been his normal self. He deliberately held back from dealing with Sandy because he felt that his true self would have turned the public against him. A lot o Jonny fans have been fooled!!!!!!!

As likeable as Jonny appears it seems he is a player for public consumption and he is just as two faced as some of the others. "Exept for Jade as we have seen warts and all"

Last night was a revelation and deciding one for me. Jonny is not what he seems to be and Alex a mental torturer.

That leaves me with a choice of Jade or kate to win.

I saw that. He basically said that he would have ended up yelling at people and the public would have thought "get that nutcase out".

Why did he say it though, everyone else was in bed and he must have known that people would be watching him. So why would he publicly undermine his own chances?

There are certain things you just cannot do in front of cameras, otherwise I'm sure we would have witnessed some fights, not to mention some sex and PJ "cracking one off" to use his phrase on several occasions. (I said "not to mention"!!!!)

I think that ultimately he was saying how the environment and the fact he was being watched had affected his behaviour. Which is true of all of them, including Jade!

Jonny is 29. Maybe he just grew up. I thought the way he handled Jade at the swimming pool was brilliant. It would have been easy to say "******* off you're boring me" as PJ did, but Jonny handled it well.

Too true OG. Most of the housemates in this series and the previous two have made a point of saying how they were not their 'true self' in the house. I think you have to subsume certain aspects of your natural personality, especially if you're an extrovert personality like Jonny, otherwise you'd be out within the first couple of weeks.

I don't think it's hypocritical to play up your good points and try and minimise your 'bad' points - not only does it make your life in the house easier, it also shows a certain respect for your housemates. You can still try and be true TO yourself whilst trying to get on with others and 'bite your tongue' when under different circumstances you may have spoken out. This isn't being two faced this is taking the middle ground, and it's no bad thing in such a confined environment and in the company of people who not only are virtual strangers but may be people you wouldn't want to spend more than a few minutes with in the 'real world'.

I think there's a lot be to said for the 'less is more' approach - perhaps something Jade could do with remembering!!

I ticked too much money not enough thought but i could have ticked any except possibly the Tim one as he is just a symptom of the box marked housemates.

The whole thing has been badly conceived this year.

In an attempt to be different from last year they have gone over the top completely.

I voted for the divide simply because it, more than anything else, showed the lack of understanding of the BB concept this year that Ch4 have showed. I can not help feeling its a different team this year at Ch4. Such a shame
