Default Watchmen

It looks like a great film, it's based of what's said to be the best graphic novel ever. I've never read it by my friend gushes about it. Basically the watchmen are a group of superheroes but only one of them has any superpowers the rest are like Batman I suppose. There's a lot of hype around it and they reckon it's gonna be one of the biggest films of the year. I'm very much looking foward to it.

I haven't explained it very well but it does look fantastic. Here's some trailers.

There's also a game which surprisingly doesn't look bad. The film's due out next month.

I don't think it looks that good from the trailer, but it has got a lot of hype around it which makes me want to see it. I keep hearing about how great the novel is too, which makes me want to see it more.

I think it came out yesterday in America, so it'll probably be online somewhere now. May give it a watch sometime tomorrow.

Loved it.

And I swear the soundtrack was my "best songs ever" playlist - Jimi Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower, Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sounds of Silence".

Awesome movie.

What are the "characters" names Shaun.

Who's that woman in yellow spandex (I think) she has long brown hair. Yellow and black costume.

I really want to this, but the basterds make it an 18 and no matter how hard I try I never get into an 18 at the cinema.

The Graphic Rape Scene
has to stay in it.

It has to be a 18.

Will be great on BluRay.

Did not need to be 2 hours 45mins.
But I guess the power of the Book got Zack going.

But when Terry Gilliam tried this Epic he wanted a 4 -part mini TV series.
This Director Zack Snyder did 300, among others

He loves Visual Effect
and is more in tune with todays people.

Mark Komode on BBC reviews
hates it (but he is a failed director himself)
He looks at it and says it must be his way.
He is a Out Spoken Fool.

This has had 4 Directors try it
but Zack has done a Great Job.
The Hype comes from Warners
but that is normal.

As it is so long I will get it on BluRay
so I can control it better.

I think it is what many need now
great film.

When the Comedian attempted to rape the Silk Spectre's mum (the present-day's mum, anyway).

I thought it was a pretty powerful scene, but was quite uncomfortable to watch...especially when he smashed her face on the pool table.

Personally I loved the opening scene where Ozymandias was assassinating the Comedian to Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable". Great fight scene.

And the fight scene in the prison between Night Owl & Silk Spectre vs. the prisoners was pretty awesome.

I loved it. A totally new spin on the superhero genre. By immersing them within the fabric of our own history- albeit a parrellel universe- the makers give it much more of a resonance for me: in the same way that Nolan has transformed the Batman character by placing him in a modern, urban enviroment, Watchmen really dismantles the mythology of the superhero and twists and stretches it's meaning and significance. Both films are extremely relevent to our times and I can really see why the graphic novel is considered a work of art by it's legions of fans.

It may not be a perfect film: I would have liked it to be less flashy and have more of a heart to it - at times it felt a little too polished- but I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be watching it again. It was just so weird and cool.
