Perfect example. The UK could easily produce a boy band in the next 6 months and launch them before the Jonas Brothers hit the big time over here.

Well lets not forget JLS have been signed up so will probably be releasing this year. No doubt they have a very wide appeal including the HSM audience

Yeah I do think JLS will hit it big as well. Not nly here, but I think they will generate some buzz outside.

Personally, my favorite songs which arent necessarily top of the charts in the UK, I dont really know what they are, are Flo Rida's right round, and that Justin Timberlake and TI song they sang at the grammys. I also heard Eminem has a hot new song, but I haven t listened to it yet.

All these girls on the charts are craap t be honest. Lady gaga, ting ting to name a few. They are fun for a bit, but they are gimmicks like someone else mentioned.

Most songs I like dont even enter the Top 40, but thats because most of them are clubby and club songs arent big chart toppers unless you are Basshunter.

McFly used to be big over here, but now they've lost that spark. Busted were good, I think they would still be doing well over here if they didn't split.

Lol, I swear we need a petition for club and techno songs to enter the Top 40.

Nope, we just need people to buy the singles instead of albums liek Clubland, MoS & Ultimate NRG.

Most club music made today is shocking anyway so no wonder it doesn't make the charts

If a good club song is made (Infinity 2008, Pjanoo etc) then it will enter the charts

They have to be proper amazing and not "too" clubby for most people to buy them, Pjanoo & Infinity08 are good examples. And Call On Me was number 1 a few years ago I think. The new September song is getting quite a bit of airplay on radio1 at the moment, as is Everybody by Rudenko.

I love Rudenko's song too.

I think the only reason we have so many females atm is because we have gap for them. Beyonce's the big R&B diva, Leona's the soft ballad singer, Duffy's the welsh 60s inspired songstress, Tayor Swift's the new country teen star, Miley's the ultimate teen star, Rihanna's the annoying but massive dancey/R&B singer, Christina for the reinvention and voice, Britney for the catchy pop songs etc.

Most male artists that come out are often classed as samey due to their voices and style of music.
Personally, I'd love to see Sam Sparro have bigger hits, I know he can, his last album was all single worthy if it had been promoted right, Daniel Merriweather could be the next Lily Allen and David Cook needs to come to the UK

I created a playlist of favourite songs at the moment on my phone, and that features the likes of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Lily Allen and Britney.

I'm kind of reknowned for being very much a fan of male singers and boybands but have kind of phased them out in favour of females with the exception of Take That, Kings of Leon, James Morrison, The Killers and U2's new song. I think a lot of that is down to my age as well - the males I like now seem to have a more mature following.
