Default The Poetry Thread

I thought we could have a thread dedicated to poetry?

You can post either poems you have written or you fave poems out there.

Here's one of my poems (it's not that great, I'm limited as to what stuff I can publicy use, so need to keep the better ones to myself for the time being)

The Perfume's Run Dry

I miss you,
Goodbye.
I'm so sorry for everything.
You were perfect
and always full of smiles.
(I miss you).

(but you're gone
and god I miss you).

I keep trying to wipe away the dust
that gathers on your photos,
but it keeps coming back
and it's not your dust.
(I miss you)

I remember sitting on the lawn eating
croissants in the morning sun,
but now I eat alone
and I cannot taste the food.
I cannot taste you.
(I miss you)

The house seems so empty.
The last lingering scent of your perfume
is slowly fading
and the glass aroma bottle has run dry.
(I miss you)

I sit and listen to the birds
(but I cannot hear you).
I cannot hear those last whispered words
as I sit and engulf myself in misery
and heartache.
(I miss you)

I want to embrace you
and make love once more.
I long for your tender kisses to
flutter down upon my face.
But I lie in our bed alone,
staring at where your
saintly body lay.
(I miss you)

I still sit and watch our happiest day
and I still hold close the dress you wore.
There was so much I wanted to say,
(but I never did).
(I miss you)
.

My tears still flow,
and I'm trying to gather up
all my shards of heart that
were scattered on 'that' day.
But you're gone now,
I miss you,
I love you,
but I need to move on.
I hope you can forgive me.

(because now your perfume's run dry).

Aww, Ben thats really cute.

...yours too Annie hahahahaha XD

Something depressing I wrote a while back LOL:

You’re oblivious, totally oblivious.
And after these many years
My tartan heart still longs for your soul of silk.
I wish to feel my skin on yours
A forever embrace.
In comparison of all my flaws,
You are a masterpiece.
Sweet, tender kindness.
As we and the world grow
After generations and generations,
I know we’re perfect as one
Meant to be, before it comes to an end
Before oblivion, let us spend our time together.
If you ever need me, I’ll be forever waiting,
I would take care of you even if you were deemed worthless
And I would die by your side.
I wish you the best for your future,
For without you, I have none.

Le Fail

This is the nearest I get to being a poet

"When the last snows of summer fall lightly upon the plane of Death Valley"

Then there is the other one, inspired by a former line manager when I worked in a computer support role

"I'll attend to that after I get back from my skiing trip to the snowy hills of Gehenna"

Gehenna is a Hebrew word for Hell used in the New Testament
