Default Alex\'s speech

Did anyone see Alex's speech last night?
It was pretty depressing, he was saying how much he regrets going into the house. And how it was only a joke at first and then things got further and further until he realised he was in the house. He says he doesnt want to be in the limelight when he gets out and just wants to be another face in the crowd.
Did anyone else watch it?
It is on the interactive feed if you want to watch it.

I saw it. I've never been a great fan of Alex (you'd never have guessed!!!) but that speech worried me, because I think he was talking about some of the more anal things he's done, which his fans outside think was funny. Can you imagine it? People constantly reminding him about his nomination speeches for Jonny and Alison in week two and saying they were funny, and the poor lad cringing!

If his speach last night does not confirm to Alex supporters that he is not a deserving winner then I don't know what will.

I thought the fact that he couldn't even say one nice thing about each of the remaining housemates really annoyed me. I mean, how depressing....he talked of nothing but how this experience is not one he enjoyed and he would like to forget it all, and then he couldn't even bring himself to say something nice about everyone.
Those people he was left in the house with were all good people, and yes with faults - just like everyone else, but I certainly would have liked them had I been in the house. They all said nice things about Alex in their speeches, but he just couldn't be bothered.
I really then thought that if he won I wouldn't be able to believe it. He didn't even appreciate the experience, so to my mind he didn't deserve the £70,000, but I am sure if he had won it, he wouldn't have given it back!

Is it me being too critical, or did him not saying anything nice about his HM's seem a bit out of order?

This speech was, for me, one of the best and realest moments of BB3.

At least he was willing to acknowledge in the speech he had faults.

I thought it was genuine and from the heart. When he compared his experience to Milli Vanilli and said the words 'it eventually ruined them', I was moved.

It's a pity though because I think this address may have cost Alex second place - the argument with Jade last week costing him a chance to win.

One fault that Alex has is that he thinks he is a cut above everyone else. Another Tim really. He clearly considerd the remaining housmates to be inferior in someway to that of himself.

He admitted there was things he didn,t like about himself and then to my astonishment went on to say he wants to forget about it. Is he not going to try and correct what he considers to be faults in his attitude!!!!

This is a shame because he can be such a fun person when he want's to. I like him for his unique personality but not as a deserving winner of BB. So I am glad that did not happen.

I fail to see what was so awful about the speech. He was honest. He had found it bewildering, and I think he said what he felt and feared.

The other three weren't half as upset as you seem to be folks!
Perhaps because they saw it in the right context.

He's an odd chap, but not a bad one.

I didn't think that Alex's speech did him any favours. As I said earlier, I worry that what others see as funny things he did or said he will cringe at, and that he will be very uncomfortable hearing about them for however long it is.

As a lot of people only vote on the Friday, I think it came at a bad time. However he was still racing to the finishing line. Then he was tripped up by Tara Hyphen Poshbird's cringing endorsement, and, just as he struggled to his feet, Kathy Burke's rather pathetic supporting monologue came as a kick with hobnail boots to the ribcage. Does she begin to realise what a Berk (as opposed to Burke) that made her look?

I almost (but not quite) felt sorry for him after that!

In fairness to the guy, and I'm not a fan, I agree - he didn't really like the last three that much, so to drone on about how much he loved them would be lying - he has always said he stuck to his principles, and he did just that with his speech. I thought it was refreshing for it to be different.
