A HUGE blaze has broken out at a Blackpool hotel.
The Revills Hotel on the Promenade is engulfed in smoke and flames.

More than 40 firefighters from across the county are at the scene battling the blaze.

Scott Waters, 25, said: "I was driving past and there was smoke pouring out of the building. There were flames burstsing out of the first floor window and the windows had been blown out."

Police said the call came in to them at 5.35pm from the fire brigade and that the building was "well ablaze".

One officer described extensive charring on the front of the building and said the area was heavy with smoke.

The Promenade has been closed between Springfield Road and Cocker Street while firefighters douse the flames.

Onlookers have reported seeing flames shooting into the sky at the height of the blaze.

The fire could be seen as far away as Bispham.

It was Yates's a few weeks back, aparently a few days ago a flat around the corner was on fire, and now this hotel...which btw is across the street from me

Its hard to beleive it started with a tiny bit of smoke pouring out of a vent to my whole front street being corderned off

IK it sounds horrid but can you take a picture Chewy? It's just I really love Blackpool & after the Yates' fire, I want to see how huge it is compared to Yates' And I just love fire anyway lol

lol its a bit too dark at the moment, the fire is mostly inside the place, I dont think its as big as Yates's

There will most likely be some pics when the papers get onto it

Nothing wrong about saying I found this fire pretty exciting

No one was in the hotel and it was going to be demolished (when the council got round to it)
