Default Just Jack dubs GaGa \"a rip off\" while Rakes frontman brands her \"ugly trash\"

Quote:
Just Jack has criticised Lady GaGa for being a "rip-off" and sounding like a "a weird singing robot".

The star admitted that he struggled to differentiate between Lady GaGa and other similar artists because they showed no originality.

"A lot of modern songs rely on Auto-Tune too much - not as a tool for tuning, but for giving vocals that weird brittle effect," he told DS.

"It makes people like Rihanna, Lady GaGa and Katy Perry all the ******ing same. I like organic elements in music. I like a vocal that sounds like it came out of someone's mouth rather than a weird singing robot."
Quote:
The Rakes frontman Alex Donohoe has launched an attack on Lady GaGa, claiming that the US popstar looks like a prostitute.

The indie-rock singer, who is currently promoting his band's new album Klang, suggested that Leona Lewis's low-key approach to fame is much more appealing.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Donohoe explained: "I can't stand Lady GaGa. She is basically selling crap to kids. I think she's terrible and really ugly. I hate her."

He added: "Leona Lewis seems dull but nice. She has standards, nice skin and can sing. Whereas Lady GaGa is trash and dresses like a prostitute."

GaGa has also recently attracted criticism from Just Jack, who claimed that the star sounds like "a weird singing robot".

Meanwhile, Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi has advised GaGa to "put some clothes on" and stop courting the press.
DS

Although I can see where both are coming from, labelling her ugly is totally uncalled for and unnecessary, imo.

Gaga's music may be "robotic" or "processed", but people are buying it. Dare I ask about their record sales?

I've heard of them before. They're just one of the bands that managed reasonable success in the 04/05 resurgence of indie.

MarkSpears - who cares about record sales, other than the artists themselves? People voted for the Nazis, doesn't mean they were right, does it?

And I totally agree with them

Never mind. She'll be forgotten about in 2 or 3 years.

this Just Jack bloke compares her with Rihanna and Katy Perry.....apart from they all sing different sorts of songs.....

Rihanna always sings the same way nowadays
Katy Perry sings down to earth sort of songs
GaGa sings 'electric' (only word i could think of ) type of songs..how can they sound the same

Well the Rihanna/GaGa comparison is pretty obvious. And there are similarities between GaGa and Katy's voices. And Katy Perry's songs are down to earth?!?!

I'm fine I'm just can't fathom how songs like I Kissed A Girl, Waking Up In Vegas, Self Inflicted, If You Can Afford Me, ect. could possiobly be labelled down to earth.

I agree with this bit, but the rest is rubbish.

Like some people who become public eye and top out in magazines n stuff alll the time start to annoy me generally.

Gaga wants Madge status as the queen of pop but there can only be ONE queen of pop.

I guess this is why Just Jack has decided to be controversial:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embers_(Just_Jack_song)

Trying to gain some promotion for his new single, which is out in a couple of days.

I'm just saying, they can slag her off about her music but if she's had two number ones in less than two months people are obviously buying her music, so she's doing something right.

Just Jack has always tried to be controversial, his break through single was about slagging off Simon Cowell. Though to be fair, he only let rip on her when asked in an interview, he didn't just randomly say it or put it in his blog.
