Default Madeleine\'s father returns to Portugal

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20090404/...l-41f21e0.html

The father of Madeleine McCann has returned to Portugal to advise private detectives filming a reconstruction of her disappearance, it has been revealed.

Family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said Gerry McCann and friends Jane Tanner and Matthew Oldfield, who were with him and his wife Kate on the night their daughter vanished, are in Praia da Luz.

The McCanns' private investigators are making the reconstruction, which is also being filmed as part of a Channel Four Cutting Edge documentary.

Viewers will see actors playing out what witnesses claim happened on the night of May 3, 2007, with witness statements read out over the top.

Negotiations are under way for the film to be broadcast on Portuguese television and across Europe, and it will be available on the Find Madeleine website.

Mr Mitchell said: "The aim of this is to get that critical piece of information that could still help to find Madeleine. Gerry has returned with that aim."

He went on: "Certain aspects of the witness testimony were hidden deep in the police files and these particular aspects have received very little attention. The private investigators feel that it is very important to highlight these things.

"It's being done simply in the hope that it will jog someone's memory."

He said a man was seen acting "suspiciously" in the area two days before Madeleine disappeared, and that Ms Tanner claimed she saw a man who could have been an abductor carrying a sleeping child.

The Channel Four programme, which is due to be broadcast on May 7, will also feature interviews with Mr McCann, Ms Tanner and Dr Oldfield.

I support Kate and Gerry for everything they are doing for publicity.
Anyone that can think they killed their own daughter is deluded.

Gerry was told to leave by the people that live and work there, the news coverage has lost a lot of people jobs because it has painted the resort in a bad light. I bet he wasn't expecting that.

If she is dead, they would have burned her body. Nobody would find her then. Personally i think that they wouldn't traffick her, because she is so well know all around the world. I think that she is either being kept hidden really well, or has been burnt, so no-body can find her

Exactly.
As much as people are starting to get sick of the media coverage bringing it back up - we can still empathise with the reasons.

Because burning the body means that it is hugely unlikely she wil ever be found. If they keep her body somewhere, maybe bury her, she may eventually be found. The people that took her did it without anyone seeing, so they must be quite clever. If they were clever enough they would have realised that by burning her, nobody will be able to fins her body again. By buring her, it it likely that they will be found out, either by DNA on her body or something.

They are doing everything they can, but theyve got two other children aswell and need to have a normal life for them...It seems pretty obvious to me that if they were involved they would be trying to keep a low profile right now...not the case

It's simply child neglect - and if it had happened on a council estate in Britain when the parents were at a pub around the corner they'd have been locked up for neglect by now.

I wouldnt go as far as that...a stupid and very costly mistake maybe. And what would be the point of locking up otherwise good parents and depriving their two other children of their mother and father?

I have always had mixed feelings about this case, I would love this little girl to turn up well, I would love her parents not to be involved, BUT I have a little nagging doubt that I struggle to ignore.

Someone said they find it hard to believe they would kill their own child, yet it happens, it happens in all levels of society, to use that as a base to think they didnt do it seems a little niave to me.

Like them though until I had some level of closure I would be unable to stop looking for my missing child.

my views exactly and I`m not even a parent. How someone can say they find it hard to believe someone would kill their own child is rediculous,it happens all the time.I find that pair very very suspicious and always have done although like Sunny said I would like to believe that they are not involved, yet I can`t

I've always been supportive of them, but two years on and still nothing. I really doubt she'll be found anytime soon but I just hope my theory will be proved wrong. If she's still alive, I can't even begin to think where she is or what she's being made to do.

Its not a case of not believing people are capable of killing their own children...of course some people are. But the evidence in this case just doesnt add up and its highly questionable to think they could have got away with that with all their friends and the media around + their behaviour since just doesnt indicate that they have anything to hide...infact its crazy to me to even contemplate they could be responsible.
