Default Technical Question

Hi,

So I know alot of people are bored to death with the whole live feed debate, but I have to ask, what actually goes in to it? I mean where do the costs go? is it really that expensive?

My guess is that there are people in the gallery 24/7 watching the screens, obviously that has to be turned into a feed that can be aired, so extra people have to be hired to do that, can't be more than 5 I'dve thought? The cost of electricity on top of what they already use can't be too much. Then they have to pay for a channel (I've heard something about a transponder?) Which they already have, and used for CBB. I suppse a 'Big Brother Live' title screen would have to be paid for too.

So what else goes into the production of a live feed?

According to the 'insider' at iBB they are still weighing up the pros and cons (which I'm not so sure I believe) But I suppose the biggest con would be cost, so I just wondered. But IMO the biggest con of scrapping live feed would be the drop in viewers a la CBB.

What would I know lol!!! (Thats why I'm asking!!!)

I'd imagine they'd probably need for than 5 depending on the time. During the day, they'd have a good few but they'd probably need most at night from around 8pm-1am.

The LIVE feed MUST be here this year - for the sake of the show.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Thats OK, thanks for the reply!

Yes I think you're right, 5 does seem a bit low considering there can be around 15 HM's at a time, maybe towards the end 5 would be ok.

I agree, BB without LF isn't really BB at all is it? I tolerated CBB without LF because it was so short, but how many more viewers will give up on the show without it? I was annoyed with what little LF we did have too, as the celebs knew when they were going live so could act accordingly. Not so easy when you're live 24/7.

This is Nasty Endemol Staff costs savings
they have to have a Legal Producer to cut sound feed
and some other staff.

If the do not do Live Feed
it will destroy the whole point of this.
