Default Maybe they are cutting stuff because...

They actually do want to bring Big Brother back with a bang? The more I think about it, the more I think that maybe they are cutting back on all the "non essentials", the stuff that don't seem as important because tbf it is only the hardcore fans that are really bothered about the live feed being cut (I mean hardcore fans of the show, not just livefeed viewers), and the website clips seem to be popular with casual viewers, and BBBM has been on a decline since Russel left.

What I'm trying to say is although we appreciate that BBBM and the live feed in particular are all integral to the show, the reasons for the cutback may be to actually focus on making the show half decent once again.

Just a thought :P

i think EVERYTHING so far needs to completely scrapped and forgotton about. Then the producers can think of totally new ideas keeping to a 'Isolated House, no outside contact, housemates, nominations, eviction' bit and working around that.

Only two series left before axing, C4 understood that and try to kill it slowly. To be honest, I don't care about BBBM and the live feed because I've practically never watched them but I can see why people are pissed off about. I think people will get over it, like I said, two series left so they can get over it.

Yeah but are they killing it? So far we've seen BBBM cut to once a week and live feed cut, but they were both unecessary. Well no the live feed was but again it could be seen as a waste of money since the ratings weren't great, and people were more interested in the clips on the site (fair enough they canbe manipulated but that's not really the point).

Saving this money could mean bigger and better things, perhaps they are actually trying to improve the quality of the main show rather than the spinoff and live feed?

C4 are trying to find alternatives to rely on since it will be ending. They're putting their funding into other projects rather than Big Brother because they can see a decline in ratings. They aren't putting all of their eggs into one basket, they're trying to spread it out and spend money of their budget on other areas which could be successful in the future. Like Channel 4's Film4, which produced Slumdog Millionaire, In Bruges, and Happy-Go-Lucky - all Oscar Nominees (and in Slumdog's case a major Oscar winner).

They've already gotten rid of their forums to save money. Yes, BB is a major income for them but they're trying to see how minimal they can make their spending on BB. C4 really need the money right now as well.

I think the point where we said bye bye to Big Brother is during Celebrity Big Brother 5 (the one with Shilpa, Jade (R.I.P), Jo and Daniele.)

Those who say the live feed is unnecessary obviously don't understand the concept of the show. When it began it was all about being able to watch the HMs 24 hours a day, not being able to watch highlights of what some people did in a house yesterday.

Without the live feed, there is no show. BB10 will be Big Brother in name only.

No I know the live feed is vital, but what I mean is that if they are trying to save money then cutting the live feed made sense because the video clips are popular (although not with us).

All I'm saying us that yes they may be cutting stuff the viewers like, but it doesn't mean they are actually trying to kill the show, and all of this could be to save it.

Pehaps they will make the house better then last 2 years. Maybe they are cutting all these things to make the main show the best yet.

It's stupid that they're cutting the live feed. At times it got around 300,000 viewers, and it costs them nothing.
