Default Braces

Just been to the dentist and he said i need an appointment to the orthadontist as its likely i need braces! well thanks for telling me that now!!! Im 16, i dont want to wear braces!!!

I dont want them and how long would someone have them for anyways?? and you have to wait a long time (waiting list) dont you??

Should i do it?? the reason i dont want to is that what if im 18 and ive still got them.... horrible

If i do have it done, I'll get the white ones so you cant see them.....

I am getting my braces done in june. My ones are not invisible but you can have clear elastic bands on them.

Don't worry too much about them! Just try not to lose them like I did the other day.
I had train tracks for 2 years and then they removed 3 weeks ago and they gave me this plastic retainer but it was basically a mould of my teeth... the point is that it now rides the train from Birmingham to Coventry Ooops :P

I really dont want to have them for more than a year. If the orthadontist tells me 2 years + then i will just say No and suffer, I dont care, im not going to have it when i reach 18!

My friend got them about 2 years ago, and she got them off the other week... hers were visible, she had multi-coloured bands in them >.<

She then had to wear a retainer for about 2 weeks, but now she wears it just for bed xD

Last time i had them was when i was 10

they put this Blue gum stuff in your mouth to see what shape the brace needs to be

and then yank it out really hard

Oh no I didn't wait for ages...
They did two appointments when I was 11 and then they had to take 2 teeth out and then wait a little bit so my mouth could adjust to the missing teeth.
Then I had 3 different retainers over 2 years then for 2 years I had train tracks.

Yes you should have braces
it saves you big money in the future.

It looks bad , I know
ask if you are permitted to take them off when you go out
on a night?

If they say OK - so long as you put them back
that same night,
then that is the way to go.

Yeah good point, my mum and sister have really nice Hollywood like teeth and my Dad hasnt and he has paid over Ł4000 so far and still needs major things done to his teeth.

Yeahh and i like the plan about asking if i can take them off when i go out at night.

I've had them for 4 years. It was fun at the beginning but rather annoying at the end. It quite hurts every time you go to the dentist but hey, you have to do it.
The worst is for eating an apple and candies. You can broke your braces which is painful.

Awhh i had them in year 8, not for long though only for about 9months.. I know it's a pain in the backside, but it's worth it for the lovely straight teeth at the end (:

I would love the idea of having it for 9 months... were your teeth bad? how come it took only a few months until you took them off?

Yeah you have a great big smile right after. It looks so weird, especially after a long time you've had them. You feel like your teeth are SO long lol
