Default Artists that Mime

Does it get on your nerves aswell as mine? I Love going through youtube and listening to live music, especially fro the saturdays and Leona, but it anoys me when artists mime in performances! I know the saturdays sometimes do it, bt Leona doesn't, Butreally well known artists doing i, and making millions from it, end up miming. It annoys me :S

That's an oxymoron.lol
'Artists' who mime. I think that they basically take the piss out of their fans.
Take Britney for instance; she was only an ok singer to begin with and then as soon as they've built their fan base up and earned millions, they then take it easy and just give half arsed performances because they've made their money no matter what.

Generally I hate it however,
If they are doing an energetic performance eg,lots of dancing and movement then I can see the need for it and I don`t mind so much,as longgg...
as they admit to it,and its in perfect sync and totally unnoticable

**** happens. Artists aren't selling live music are they? That's what sells not a live performance.

I HAAATE it when artists mime.
If I'm honest, I'd rather have a poor live vocal than a perfect one mimed.
If I paid to see an artist live, and they mimed, I'd personally feel extremely cheated.

The thing that annoys me is Shayne Ward does it EVERY TIME I see him performing and he's meant to have won a live singing competition. Like wtf?

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but The Saturdays often use playback - as do artists like Britney etc. Playback is just re-recorded vocals made to sound live.

Yeah but surely they're still technically miming as they STILL aren't singing live regardless of whether it's the original or a re-recording, the vocal isn't being produced at that particular show?

They are not artists, lets get that straight, these people that mime haven't got an artistic bone in their body.

Miley has mimed in the past, she did on the tour she did.

Artist like Britney and madonna you expect it but mist of the time the use playback with re-recorded singing to make it sound live, but I still pay big money to see both britney and madonna because there shows are so entertaining.

But if someone like Leona, mimes I think it's a con

Theres nothing wrong with it if there is a heavy dance routine, i.e. The Saturdays. Live (well, sorta) and better vocals + better dancing = everyones happy.

No artist is innocent, which some expect them to be or are fooled by.

The only 'artist' I could tolerate it from would be Britney, because at this stage, Britney is essentially a face and a dancer. No one goes to a Britney show to hear her amazing vocals, in fact a Britney concert is essentially a big rave that she happens to be there at and a good show. And thats fine, thats what she does.

However if I paid money to see ANYONE else and they mimed I would probably walk out or be very pissed off.

@Twilight; Miley has mimed various times in the past. I doubt Taylor does as she doesn't have any form of dancing in her show and she's a very acoustic artist.
