They make it legal then they can tax the drug, make it safe and take the money out of the criminal pockets.

But still can cause mental health problems and is still smoking which can cause throat and lung cancer..

I say keep the laws the same, but illegal drugs are worse being illegal as they are made on the cheap, would we buy cheap illegaly made vodka???

It would be safer if it was legal like Andy said, for health problems it should be legalized as I know someone who could seriously use such a big pain relief. And to be honest it isn't that bad, it doesn't make you reckless like alcohol, and it only damages your brain if you start doing it every day.

I agree with legalizing it except for skunk. Skunk is geneticallly modified and the anti-psychotic properties found in natural cannabis is taken out and the stuff that can send you mental (TCH levels) is higher. Dangerous stuff for some, especially dangerous for young vunerable minds.

I don't know! Smoking and alcohol are just as bad for you. But we don't need any more drugs being legal really.

I can see the point in taking the sting out of illegal sales of it by legalising it, but I don't really agree with legalising a mind-altering drug; I think alcohol's enough!

Keep it as it is.

It would be a casual thing and a lot more people would do it, and i can't stand smoking in general.

Legalize it only for medical purposes because it's been proven Cannabis helps a lot for people who are through cancer.

And we all love doing things which are forbidden. More exciting.

It is funny watching the UK get itself in a twist about this whole Skunk emergency. What the tabloids dont realise is IF it were legal and the government controlled the supply, sale and distribution of it, their would not be any Skunk. If alcohol were illegal [remember how that turned out?] im sure their would be people up and down the country getting legless off smuggled in 80% proof whatsitcalleds.

Their really is not any two ways about it. Love Cannabis or hate it, if you legalised it tonight it would be safer tommorow. And thats a fact. Anything else is a vote for wasting police resource and spending money on locking up non violent potheads in cages built for rapists and murderers.

The bottom line really is if I smoke it in private and I dont damage anybody else - I want you to f**** off because it has nothing to do with you. Try and control other peoples lives, but im not into that shit.

What about Amsterdam? They have lower rates of teen smoking than us. Kids can get it now if they want too. Drug dealers tend not to ask for ID.

I'm with you Stu.

Legalise it completely.

Alcohol is far more dangerous than Cannabis, yet I don't see anyone getting their panties in a wad about making it illegal.

I can't stand the stuff, never have and never will touch it. But I think it might as well be legalised but if its moderated too ... its physically harmless (its all the crap in tobacco that does damage) and its probably just like getting drunk ... well not the same but you can see what I'm getting at? Plus if its not that bad now, then they're bound to have regulations meaning changes will be made it so its even safer anyway. And they could tax it too, I bet they'd make a fair bit.

Those who want to use it probably already do, its not that hard to get hold of, so I doubt there would be a significant increase in uptake of it.

haha... go for it Ben.. take the steroids if you want. And, if they eff you up, ye only have yerself to blame. Same goes with Alcohol, cigarettes, cannabis..

I'm not a fan of the nanny state. Once yer an adult, you should be able to choose what manner of sh!te you put into your body... and face the consequences of your own decisions (assuming there are any consequences).

You speak sense Tom, and you prove the point that even if it's made legal, it wouldn't encourage you to indulge in it.

People who think it would increase usage if it were made legal are living in a bubble.

So other people have to suffer job losses and seperation from their familys due to a law you support based on the philosophy of 'coz I dont like it'?

Yup.. that was basically my point .. you have the option if stuff is legal, and as an adult, you are capable of making a choice.

For that matter, you have the option if it's illegal too. lol

Cannabis itself can damage you about as much as a piece of lettuce. Its the tobacco (which is perfectly legal) which has all the chemicals in

Yeah, because most smokers run into police stations dressed as the joker with 'please arrest me' written on their bongs.

When a law against a substance does more damage than the substance itself, it creates a misjustice. Simple logic. And we have a moral obligation to disobey unjust laws. Martin Luther King.

Thats it in a nutshell. People in Europe just have a fixation with mixing tobacco in with their joints. I never saw the point in it. Also, 'gritweed' and 'soapbar' are flooding the market now. Soapbar being low quality hash mixed with everything from old vinyl records to Ketamine. Gritweed being bags of bud sprayed with glass filings and the same paint they use to paint lines on the road.

All this because of prohibition. The law makes Cannabis a dangerous drug. Theirs no two ways about it.

We dont have police stations here. We have buildings with a few 'shades' in them who set up sheep crossings and whatnot, but the law here is a bit like ''ah gwan, just dont let us see you, sure jaysus!''.
