Is this the one based on Stephen King's book? I'm told the film's pretty bad.

It was okay. I suppose it was kinda different. The ending was the best part of the film. Should give it a watch.

I've heard mixed things about it. The pre-buzz was good but when it was released it got mixed reviews. I wouldn't mind watching it as I quite like Stephen King and the premise sounds quite interesting.

agreed ^ ^ seriously if you want to watch it, just skip through to get the gist then watch the last segment for the twist.

i disagree. i enjoyed the claustrophobia and how it played out conflicts amid such a setting. loved the acting and character develpment - kinda like big brother but with actual blood and violence. great study in social dynamics and how delicately we waver on the threshold of madness when society and civilisation crumbles. that's what the true horror is and it's well told.

I suspect people were disappointed at the time of release due to the monsters not being the main part of the movie, but I loved the social commentary and the parts we did see creatures in were actually creepy and not over done.
