that's what i was about to say.
she needs to do all of those, I don't care how many records she's sold, fact is, she's obviously not big enough to rely on her fanbase, or her name alone. nobody is. therefore she needs to start promoting before she starts doing REALLY bad.

look at some recent successful acts, the majority of them have had lots of promotion [Katy Perry, Leona Lewis, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, The Saturdays, The Pussycat Dolls]. Admittedly, most of them are fairly new, but fact is, they've been successful because they've performed everywhere, been advertised etc.

compare those to artists that didn't promote as well as they could. Christina Aguilera's last few efforts haven't been that good on the charts. To be fair, she's going in a mature direction so teens are less likely to buy into her BUT for Back To Basics, she did one TV special, a few live performances of 'Hurt' and that was it. She only did two live performances for KGB: GH. Excluding the 'Back To Basics' album and 'Ain't No Other Man', everything else failed to get top 10 [ithink]. Ashlee Simpson was well established before her third album, but due to her falling pregnant and being unable to promote, the era was scrapped. Girls Aloud, their last two singles are the best on their album, but they barely promoted and ta-dah. flop.

she needs to promote like she's a brand new artist. reel in new fans, get people interested, inform them there's a new single. do Paul O'Grady, X-Factor, American Idol, Jonathon Ross etc.

She used to do great promotion. I remember in 2003 for In The Zone she went on GMTV twice, This Morning, Blue Peter, Five News and loads of radio shows and more TV shows.

I think a lot of her management not booking much promotion is the fact that they don't want interviewers to ask her about her breakdown (as I'm sure Jonathan Ross would) because they wan't people to think she is the girl from Baby One More Time which is clearly never was and never will be.

She only did one piece of promotion for her album over her, and sure, the X-Factor is probably big enough promotion for a two week promotional tour but she needed to promote it properly because even though I adore Britney and Circus, it fell out of the top ten by it's third week, I think.

I'm not sure that her management would like her to do The Sunday Night Project as they've made fun of Britney countless time (Kim Catrall episode, Davina McCall episode, Simon Pegg episode, Steven Seagall episode) so they may feel offended by that and got the hump.

But I remember when Alan Carr was on Jonathan Ross ages ago and said they were close to getting Britney on the show. But it never happened.

Exactly, she made it clear that she's not innocent anymore, no more BOMT. It's been a fairly slow transformation but she should be able to talk about it now. &as for the breakdown, I know it was a painful time for her, and it may be hard to talk about it, but she's gonna have to sometime, even if it's for the sake of her career. I'm sure she will when she's ready though.

I've always said that the reason she doesn't promote on shows is because she's still very fragile. If you see her talk on the shows she did last year (X Factor, Star Academy etc) her voice was very quiet and she gave one word answers a lot. I'm making a judgement here, but I think she's quite frightened to open up to people.

However she seems more confident these days and she's been seen a lot the past few days with Jason alone and smiling and just being happy. I'm hoping she's been given a lot more independance because if she's not being controlled she's going to be able to make her own decisions and start having fun - which is what she needs.

The owners of the Olympic Stadium in Moscow were selling Britney's show as though it was an end-stage show therefore at the concert there were thousands of empty seats.

At the end of the show Britney said

But the thing is she needs to do at least performances on Shows like Paul I grady gmtv ect, but an actuall interview talking about the album and single ecy and future plans interviews such as Jonathen dint need to talk about her breakdown cause no matter how public it was it's a very private matter.

Her management just don't seem to realise that without promotion her albums won't sell big look at gaga, she's done massive promotion over here that's why she's had 2 no.1s and a top 10,

I just hope if and when this conservatship ends britney will feel better in herself,

And IMO she doesn't technically need Larry Rudolf being too much involved in her album process, look at blackout, fantastic album & charted well, Circus is a great album but is no where near blackout standard.

I would just love for her to have the no.1 albums and singles again
