I like the new song, not a big Madonna fan but it is catchy. I think her best work was about 1997/98 with song's like Ray of Light, Frozen and Goodbye.

I've heard the song, and it is rather catchy. It's been stuck in my head for ages!
It's alright, but I don't really listen to pop music.

I bet, all that pruning during the night can work magic, even on a bush like yours.

It's all about the maintenance... I like to keep it trimmed and tidy, then it always looks neat.

The similiarities end after the fact that both tracks have a female vocal. And the Gwen Stefani track in question is actually a Sparks rip-off.

The amazing thing is, I was 10 when Madonna first released "holiday" in the uk in 1984. I remember her coming on Top of the Pops (which was practically the only time we got to see music on telly.. no MTV for us!!!), and I remember thinking she was absolutely amazing!!!! All my friends thought the same, and we continued to idolise her and dress like her (which is extremely embarrassing now when I think about it!)

It's now 2005, I'm 31 years old and I still think she is amazing. I would give anything to see her live. I have never seen her live and probably never will, as tickets are so hard to get.

I don't think she will ever disappoint me in anything she does. I guess I'm an uber-fan!!!

Whenever I hear the song, I'm thinking "What, ABBA are back?" And then realise it's Madonna. So I have this initial fear of "NO! POP CHEESE!" before thinking "Ahh, good ol' Madge."

Same here stropz..... I remembering seeing her for the first time on TotP too! She blew my mind and from that day on I've been a big fan! I did go off her a little bit when she went throught her "erottica" stage but even then I still couldnt stop listening to her music!

In fact hers was the first gig I ever went to.... i was 14 and it was her blonde ambition tour.... she rocked!

I cant wait for her new cd to be out!!!

Frankly, her performance at the awards was embarrassing.

Trying to hard to be young and cool.

Well I've only seen clips, but I think she does indeed look fantastic. And she hardly needs to 'try to be young and cool' when she's always been able to spot trends and run with them well before the rest of the pack. The new album is no exception, and every track is basically a dance (house is probably a better description, actually) number. All 12 tracks run in to each other, so that the album plays like a mix. You can hear some older influences in there, such as Giorgio Moroder/Donna Summer and even Depeche Mode, alongside more recent influences like Hardfloor and Daft Punk. So rather than trying to be cool, she's very much succeeding.

Never mind though, cc100. Britney (and her bottom) will be back soon enough.

Britney is terrible, also.

Apart from Toxic, she releases endless pap after pap.

She does have a great bum, but its just a shame shes a bit of a red-neck.

Why did you mention her bottom?

Can't agree with you this time cc.

I must admit when she started out, I was no fan at all. In fact quite the opposite. All ego and tragic fashion errors. In fact Robert Smith of the Cure endeared himself to me in perpetuity when he dclared that she looked like she smelt!

Childish! I hear you cry. Well, perhaps.

However, when she was on Live Aid in 1985, she kept us all in England waiting for about 40 minutes, looking at an empty Philadelphia stage whilst she went to the loo. She had insisted that the whole backstage area be cleared so no-one was anywhere near the toilets when she went. I thought her arrogance knew no bounds.

Added to that, there was a very persuasive rumour that the finale in England was going to see the closest thing to a Beatles reunion possible. That was - Paul, George, Ringo and Julian, John's son. I was beside myself with excitement.

Every minute she languished in her isolated reverie sur le bog made this less likely.

Now, I don't know if this was ever a real possibility, but it was obvious that the rest of the UK concert suffered from the delay, and we only had Paul on in the end. The rumour was that Julian had second thoughts having been standing by waiting to go on. Who knows if it was true. But, I was sure that smelly Madge was the person to blame!

Anyway, the years have gone by, and I'm pretty sure that was never going to happen.

I have to begrudgingly admit that the woman is talented and hard working, and going back to the beginning of the thread, she looks amazing, and the song/video is great. I don't think it's sad to look that good cc. It's only sad that I don't look that good!

I just feel that its a little embarrassing the way that she tries to be cool, when she should make a suitable style of music for her age. Dance music, like it or not, is the domain of the youth.

What did you think of Cher doing a dance album a few years back. Now that was bad!

The only Madonna stuff Ive liked is Vogue and Papa Dont Preach-pure pop.
Id like to see her do that sort of music again.

It could be a case of mistaken identity, of course. It may well have been an entirely different cc100 that posted a request for pics of Britney's bottom.

Surely age should play a part in it at all. Does it mean that if your 47 you cant keep up with the trends? That you cant make a dance track or look stunning??

OMG! How can you even compare Madonna to Cher???

Cher is certainly a talented enough artist, but she is no Madonna!!!!

I'm insulted that you would do that!!!

I was more comparing their age.

It feels like people are jumping down my throat because Im not a fan of Madonna.

This is a bit harsh.

LoL cc.. my comment was a tad tongue-in-cheek. Didn't u notice the wee "laugh" at the end inbetween the "no-no"s?

You are perfectly entitled to not be a fan. I will always be a fan, but I know how you feel. Up until very recently I was made to feel like I was the only person in the world who didn't like Michael Jackson. All the way through school and afterwards I was told I must be mad!!!

Alas, I am mad, but I still don't like MJ!!!! And his fans are a tad scary! lol
