Actually that is simply a mistake. Within the framework of the discussion:

If Person A (sitting at his computer) says Person B (sitting at his computer) should "get a life" on the basis that Person B is sitting at his computer then only Person A is the "hypocrite".

The fact that both parties are sitting at their computers is of no relevance as it was only Person A who told the other to "get a life". "All of us" (that is Person A and Person B) may be sitting at computers but only one party (Person A) made the relevant accusation. Therefore only Person A is the hypocrite.

I have simplified the tri-partite nature of the original discussion to only two parties for the sake of simplicity but this makes no difference to the point.

Bigmalky was, in fact, too quick to concede the point in his subsequent response.

That is just a basic observation with regard to the meaning of the term and is not meant to have any wider significance with regard to the content of the debate in question.

Sorry for being pedantic but I have a thing about correcting such mistakes.

I didn't call you a hypocrite and I am sorry if you thought I did. I was merely pointing out that, given the meaning of the word "hypocrite", and given the nature of the dialogue, the claim that "that makes all of us then" in the post I quoted could quite simply not be correct.

Furthermore, I was at pains to point out that my untangling of the linguistic/conceptual error was in itself not related to any other accusation or specific point made in the debate.

I am sure if you read my post more carefully you will see that you have misunderstood what I said.

LMAO at previous post... very well put mate.

How do you actually know marcus has little friends? I met my partner online and go on forums and play online games. I have a family, children, friends in both Scotland where I'm from and here in England where I stay through work. I've met people I chat online with along with my partner and they are nice enough, normal people. I go out a couple of weekends a month, go out to dinner, do the weekly pub quiz and everyday things like shopping and work. Hardly takes up all my time thank you.

So what gives you the right to say it's a sad life... mine is quite fulfilling so does this make it any different for Marcus?

That's posted as a person, not a fan.
