Freddie haters will jump on the slightest thing so ignore them. Marcus wants to go, so Freddie assumes the public will evict him, and he's right. Nothing wrong with using a bit of logic. Of all the people in there, Freddie deserves to get to the final.

Yep, I think that Freddie was just assuming that as Marcus has repeatedly said he wants to go home, that people will vote him out based on that.

So naturally he assumes he will be staying this week.

He has certainly been through the toughest of times in there. And he still manages to be genuinely positive at the end of it all. Yes I think he deserves to win too.

Kindly explain this bit then:

"After the announcement, Halfwit told Siavash and Marcus that he’s “very confident” that he will be staying in the house and that next week he won’t be nominated."

Is that realistic or deluded?

But the housemates were sat with him, and later commented on what he had said as seeming a bit cocky. So if they saw it too, then you cant really blame it on bad editing

I did laugh when he said he didn't think he would be nominated next week. Siavash and Marcus's faces were a picture.

Siavash knows that it will be him and whoever stays this Friday up next week, he's not stupid but Freddie seems to think that by retreating into his shell a little and not getting into arguments, he will avoid being nominated.

Freddie is certainly a unique one, he sometimes comes across as so perceptive, but so naive at other times.

by saying he doesn't think Lisa will nominate him, that shows that he hasn't a bad bone in his body and a bit naive.

Exactly, Marcus keeps saying he wants to go, so that's why Freddie thinks he will.

And what he said to Lisa, he thinks the public love him.
He would think that, they did keep him in for 5 weeks in a row.

it shouldn't need explaining, anyone with a working braincell knew that remark was not said to be cocky marcus wants the public to vote him out,so why wouldnt freddie think he was going,it's not as though he has done anything to warrant been voted out,it's quite simple really when you think about it

Shows that he is not as clever and 'tuned-in' as he always claims he is!

It's not good to brag Freddie - you nearly always end up looking a fool!

Freddie's reaction to the nomination announcement was kind of interesting. He clearly wasn't happy. He then said he was confident he would stay. However he went into the Diary Room and was much, much less confident. In fact he didn't seem certain at all.

My own feeling, based on the above, is that, to a significant extent, Freddie's reaction in front of the other Housemates was a display of bravado because he knew Lisa et al. were watching him.
