Default What did everyone get for Christmas?

I know Christmas isnt just about getting presents but some people must have got a few nice ones. What did u all get?

I got a CD writer so no more buying CD's for me, a new scanner and the usual like videos and clothes. I had a lovely christmas and the family was also treated to a digital camera.

So, what did u all get? Hope u all got what you wanted.

I got everything I hinted at as possible considerations for purchase, from my husband.

I just wish I had pointed to a few more luxurious items now!

Earrings, jumpers, clocks, necklaces. smelly stuff, slippers, chocs, etc.....

Well, I think that must take the prize as the most original present given this Christmas, Sticks.

I can't imagine ANYONE else giving their parents lamb chops for Christmas.

Lamb chops! How funny, but like you said I guess if people want something really bad it makes more sense to give them that than something they dont want!

I was given a DVD player that, unlike my old one, plays video CDs and CD-Rs.
Now I can watch episodes of reality TV and Friends, that I download, on my TV instead of computer. Yay.

Also got a pleasantly redolant aftershave and a model of a fishing boat that I was going to put a picture up of, but my digital camera is disobliging.

My favorite Thornton Chocolates.
Lot's of smelly's.

Lot's of new Pasta and China dishes.
A mug with pictures of Border Collies on.
Some fantastic ( huge ) candles.

Jannette and Graeme I have just 'LOL'ed at your entries. That is EVERY family just after Christmas. Well done both !

Mr. Boris and I decided several years ago not to buy presents for each other any more. No , we are not miserable scrooges, but short of time and inclination to buy 'bits and pieces' for the sake of it. We did, however, both get a small selection of chocolatey and alcoholic type pressies from the various relatives that we spent time with over the last few days.

One of the best Christmases ,present wise ' that we ever had was about 5 years ago. There were 12 at our house for Christmas dinner and all present buying was banned. Instead Instead I bought token gifts [£3.50 max] suitable for correct number of rellies and put raffle numbers on them. As they arrived they 'bought' a ticket - 10p - and after dinner traded their ticket for a pressie. They were mostly bottles of wine choclates etc. To make it a bit more exciting I had included 1 bottle of whiskey, 1 box of Thorntons Chocs, but also a couple of 'Booby ' prises including a 'de-icer', some olive oil and some washing up liquid. My carless nephew was permitted to 'trade' his de-icer for the bottle of washing up liquid to take to scout camp. Everyone said they enjoyed the fun but we havn't done it since as there are now Grandchildren for whom the traditions must continue.

Must start thinking about next year now. Only three hundred and sixty ish????? shopping days left....

PS Graeme it is my daughters birthday today, so you can guess what that did to the family budget in the past. We went to a party at her house today to celebrate...It was great. Mr. Boris is at present sleeping off the effects. I can hear the snoring from here !!!

I remember these stories and have a selection of ancient paperbacks, only 1 harback.
I came across I website quite by accident kaphc one day that was all about the series. I hadn't realised how collectable they were [the right ones of course.] Mine are mostly not the right editions. I would love to read some more agon for 'old times' sake.

In case you havn't seen it

It has a lazer rather than a mouse ball so it won't do what it wants to do after a while of use
