Anyone remember what they were doing when they found out about the attacks????

watching it at my friends house before getting a lift to school

I came home from School on lunch break and my Sister was freaking out saying the world was ending......2 people went back in after lunch that day.....

I remember I was ill that day, so I stayed at home and watched it on the news.

Was a sad day.

I was at home for some reason, woke up at like 11 went down and saw my mum watching it on the news, freaking out as my sister was in San Francisco at the time.

I hate when a relative or friend is somewhere when something terrible happens....

My brother has photos of him on top of the Twin Towers 2 months to the date before it happened, really weird to look at knowing all them people died...

My main memory of that day is the relief at the fact that the Statue of Liberty wasn't damaged, not sure why, I guess I was young at the time and the towers didn't mean much then.

I have since realise the tragedy of the occasion.

my bro was in london the day of the tube bombings, and he uses them daily, we were scared shitless



but yeah, i came home from school at the normal time and heard it on the radio on the way home (which makes me realise the school didnt let us know! bastards)

Our school had tv's in every room and my mate who did go back in after lucnh said all classes were cancelled and they just put the news on.....

Honestly I'm shocked that its 8 years already.

I remember seeing ground zero, it was pitch black.

hmm i firmly believe its a huge conspiracy and it was the governments idea..but osama still is one vile evil human that needs to be caught and die a slow death, along with mugabe

My sister's ex boyfriend was on a plane from New York when it happened. He didn't find out anything until he got home like 12 hours later, his mum was going apeshit at home.

and this guy in my history class, was immigrating from Russia to England when it happened and it was announced on the plane as they landed.

I was at school, I remember us being told but I didn't think that much of it at first [I never was one for world news as a child, regardless of how tragic] and then being really confused when I got home and one of my favourite shows wasn't on TV that night and my parents had to explain to me why.

Second day of High School, I was 11. I went back from school and then I watched it on TV, I thought it was a movie but it actually wasn't.

i got a news alert on my computer.

i spent the rest of the day watching sky news,

as time goes on, i find it harder to watch or read anything about it.

i could not watch voices from the towers, a programme about peoples last phone calls.

if you want to take your own life...fine

but leave other people alone.

My cousin was in NY city at that moment because she went to see Michael Jackson live. She still can't describe what she felt when the towers fell. To her it was another world, she ran ran and ran in the streets and she managed to hide from the smoke.

7 World Trade Center has been completely rebuilt (the smaller one that noone really cares about) and the site of the main towers looked like this in July, so no they aren't really that far
