People telling me how Arsenal got ripped apart how we didnt turn up, we wern't good enough for city we got thrashed etc.

When you look at the stats though..

City
Shots On : 5
Shots Off : 3
Pass Success : 73%
Possesion : 39.6%

Arsenal
Shots On : 7
Shots Off : 12
Pass Success : 82%
Possesion : 60.04%

So Although we lost, it seems it just wasn't our day, we were unlucky to lose like that, just like we were to united.

BBC Highlights show that we were by far the better team aswell we looked like we dominated.

Also just saw the adebayor kick on the face, that too me looked intentional.
He is a wanker.

Van Persie reaction to Adebayor incident

Robin van Persie has issued the following statement following an incident with Emmanuel Adebayor at Saturday's game:

"I am sad and disappointed by my former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor's mindless and malicious stamp on me during today's match.

"We are both professional footballers and I know that the game is physical, I too have made hard and sometimes mis-timed challenges but never with the intention of hurting an opponent. He set out to hurt me today.

"I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made. He moved backwards when his natural momentum would have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.

"I do feel lucky that I have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimetres from my eye. I have not received an apology from him, there were no words exchanged afterwards. He had his own agenda today and that is bad for football. It's bad for the game we all love.

"I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the result of today's match. We do not hide from that disappointment but I need to speak out about his behaviour."

Commontators and the people on bbc said he should have been red carded for that.

Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor set for four-match ban

The FA are set to hammer Emmanuel Adebayor with a four-match double ban after he turned Manchester City's clash with Arsenal into a personal revenge mission.

The Ł25million City striker is likely to be hit with a three-game violent conduct penalty for stamping on the head of Arsenal forward Robin Van Persie during City's 4-2 win.

And he will also be punished for improper conduct for sprinting the length of the pitch at Eastlands on Saturday to taunt the fans of his former club after he had scored for City.

A steward was knocked unconscious in the melee that followed Adebayor's celebration, and missiles were thrown on to the pitch.

Adebayor, who apologised for his behaviour straight after the match and blamed the emotion of the occasion, is now almost certain to miss City's derby showdown with Manchester United on Sunday.

And with Robinho sidelined for three weeks and Carlos Tevez facing a fitness fight to be ready for the Old Trafford clash, Adebayor's absence could derail City's dream start to the season.

The FA were particularly appalled by Adebayor's behaviour and the crowd disturbances it caused because it came barely a fortnight after the rioting at the Carling Cup match between West Ham and Millwall.

FA chief executive Ian Watmore, who witnessed Adebayor's antics from the stands at Eastlands, said he was "pretty unimpressed" by what he saw.

"He ran the whole length of the field to celebrate so we will have a good close look at that one on Monday when we have seen it again properly in the cold light of day.

"I thought the stewards did a great job in calming the situation down. And it was to Manchester City's credit that nothing else happened."

There were fresh accusations from Arsenal last night that Adebayor appeared to be conducting a personal vendetta against former team-mates during the game.

Van Persie, who was cut on the face by the blades worn by the Togo international, is believed to feel he could have lost his sight if Adebayor had been wearing studs.

And there were also suggestions that Adebayor, who had to take evasive action from several wild Arsenal challenges, also targeted Cesc Fabregas in incidents that went unseen by referee Mark Clattenburg.

City boss Mark Hughes did his best to defend his star forward but accepted Adebayor's actions might have a "negative impact".

"He has come out very quickly and apologised," the City boss said. "He knows he shouldn't have done it.

"When I said we need to cut him some slack it was because of the breakdown in his relationship with the Arsenal fans last season.

"That was the sad part for him. He really loved his time at Arsenal, he will tell you that himself, but for whatever reason he wasn't appreciated by his own fans at the end and that is hard to take as a professional footballer.

"Obviously you want to be loved by your own fans because you get enough abuse from the opposition. That's the feeling behind it, I'm sure.

"I'm not sure how close he ran towards the Arsenal fans. It is not as if he jumped into them. He was still on the field of play, he wasn't waving flags provocatively at the opposition fans. He slid on his knees as he always does.

"He did a similar celebration away at Blackburn and there were Blackburn Rovers fans there at that time so it is something he does as a consequence of scoring great goals."
