Great stuff. And great music to drink to! I picked up a lot of the Pop Punk shtick from the Tony Hawk games. Stuff like Superman by Goldfinger, brilliant stuff. I was never too into the original Punk scene though. Post Punk is my scene. A lot of Punk was 90% throwaway, like Dance, and a lot of the movement was sort of a cultural cul de sac. Against everything, for nothing. People realised this early on and realised Punk's own music would face very little evolution or experimentation because of sheer stubbornness. John Lydon realised it when he formed Public Image Ltd. A much, much, much better band in every possible way than the Sex Pistols. |
