Well, this neck of the woods has officially flooded. Tesco along with it. You'd be delighted, Arista. A walk down to the front of the supermarket will reveal a small army of floating trolley's, and the car park was underground.

Ho-hoooo ****.

Not as late as me

I was out last night so quite hungover, I was half watching GMTV earlier on and they did a thing about Cockermouth, I thought to myself it would make a great TIBB thread (I'm officially sad now aren't i?!)

So opening new stores providing hundreds of people with new jobs is bad?

Sort your priorities out, arista.

it is when when it forces high streets to close down thus robbing small communities of a reason to be a small community

Well at the end of the day it's a dog eat dog world. If Tesco has the power/chance to open new stores they'd do it. I'm sure any other retail shop or supermarket would do the same.

Tesco has done very well to become what it is today, with rival supermarkets everywhere.

Well arista I'm sure the water isn't going to be there for months to come.
How are they land grabbing? you and I both don't know the process around it, maybe nobody else wanted it.

You're hate for Tesco is starting to get boring now, you have given no valid reason to why you hate it so much, except they are greedy :S well, Morrisons, ASDA, Sainsbury's all don't exactly sit back and relax do they.

I am not taking away the fact that maybe they build in small communities that people do not want it there, but once the decision is made it's final so locals can't argue with it.

I'm not but it's annoying when the company is good to work for and if they're opening new stores which brings along hundreds of job I don't get how they're being "greedy".
