Default Your perfect X Factor

If you could take control of X Factor and the way it's run, how would you set it out?

Judges, presenters, shows, categories, format, schedule, set etc.

The format is just fine as it is.

The problem is with the press and the public, they have lost track of what the show really is. It's less about people more about talent. If they could accept that and vote like they did in the past the show would be great.

I love Dermot and Holly, so they would stay. I like the Judges they would stay. Just Ethan Boroian should of got through instead of Rikki

The panel would consist of:

Cheryl on the near end, Simon in the middle, Dannii on the far end.

Ideally I'd have Davina present the main show, Ant & Dec OR Holly & Fearne doing Xtra Factor.

The show would be split into two parts, but only on the one day, I'd prefer it to be on a Sunday.

The categories would be Male, Female and Groups, with four acts in each.

The order would go - Judge 1 Act 1; Judge 2 Act 1; Judge 3 Act 1; Judge 1 Act 2 (and so forth) in week 1, thereafter it should be a random order of who is on stage in what order.

I would get rid of the new group song thing, because it bugs me and reminds me of American Idol.

Hopefully with the departure of Louis Walsh from my ideal X Factor; we wouldn't have any novelty acts. We'd still probably get 'cute' acts who are getting the 'tween vote, but less cheese and more talent hopefully.

With 3 judges; there can no longer be deadlock. It was a good thing in Series 4 when it was first introduced due to the addition of Dannii; because it was used once in the series, and produced a shock result (Beverley going over Hope) - the only thing I can compare Deadlock to is the Parliament Act of 1945; if it's used too much, it raises questions about the point of the House of Lords, or in the case of the X Factor, the point of the judges' vote and the sing-off.

I would discourage the show from attempting to find 'the new Pussycat Dolls' or whatever; the public will never warm to them. If Girls Aloud had auditioned on the X Factor, they'd never have made the final - I enjoy (for the most part) having groups on the show, but they're just never going to win if the judges try to make them like the Pussycat Dolls or Boyzone/an equivalent. The gender roles on the X Factor should be reversed for any hope of success - the girls covering up and the guys showing flesh - the other way round is dooming them (Kandy Rain and Futureproof being two examples).

I would change the themes to reflect our generation. Some of these themes are older than some of the acts who are auditioning nowadays. Themes like Big Band and Number 1s are excellent; old school artist weeks are not.

I would get rid of the charity single thing - yes it goes to a good cause, but it inevitably makes me cringe to the max.

I'd also like tickets to go every week... I don't ask for much eh? :P

Total format change.

Judges-

Noel Gallagher
Tom Jones
Dannii Minogue
Nina Persson

Hosts-
Main: Wayne Brady
Spin-off: Don't watch it but I think Alexa Chung would be fine there

First auditions-

-No more deliberate awful singers from agencies.
-No Interviews pre audition or post audition.
-No scripted or even genuine sob stories.
-No poor singers getting through on popstar-like looks.
+A mix of Good, Mediocre and Bad singers shown on the 1 hour show
+1 minute of them singing minimum. No more clips of 15 people flashing quickly and we hear them just sing one note/word.
+No live audience, like series 1-5.

Boot camp-

+Sing two songs of your own choice, rather than from a list. Both have to be of a different genre/sub-genre
+Acts that get through perform another song, from a list.

Categories-

-Scrapped

Judges houses-

+24 make it from bootcamp to somewhere abroad with all 4 judges in one place.
+Acts must write one song (Like a Verse and Chorus) and perform it; aswell as another classic song.
+All 4 judges come to a consensus on 12 acts to go the live finals. Can mix and match from 16-24, 25 and over and groups. No minimum for any category. E.G: 4 from the 16-24's go through, 6 from the 25 and overs go through; and 2 groups go through.

Live shows-

-Friedman gone. No OTT sets, backing dancers, stage effects and choreography.
+12 acts perform and the judges rate them on scale of 1-5, lines also open on that show.
+Second show next day, has the guest performers sing and the sing off.
+Bottom two decided by the one act with the least public votes and the other act with the lowest judge score. If it's the same act, it goes to the next lowest scorer.
+Both sing a song of their choice, and Judges vote to send one act home. With one being head judge.
