Gotta disagree with stu, effy is terrible, whats so nice about her? shes skinny and she looks like a mouse. Plus she can't act to save her life

I just think the second generation just doesn't compare to the first.
I found the first more realistic and just the best.. i mean chris, cassie, sid and tony? they were amazing

You see, people say the second cast was unrealistic, the the first one wasn't exactly normal. They had someone held at gunpoint on a trip to Russia and someone driving off with a coffin on the top of their car.

I only watched a few episodes of skins series 1 and 2, and although I would have watched them all if I hadnt forgot about it being on, I found series 3 much better that the episodes I had seen of 1 and 2.

The main thing I differentiate between the two casts is that I think the 2nd lot look a hell of alot younger than the first lot

Why change it? Annoying.. can't they do a series with incorporates all the originals and these dudes - that'll be good

Don't think having the original cast would work and thats why they changed it after 2 series - if they went to a 3rd then most likely nearly all of them would be at uni and wouldn't be at 6th form where the series is based..plus the storylines wouldnt be the same once they grow up a bit

Far too dramatic, don't get why it appeals so much. It is well made and that, but it's just what teens that age are doing anyway?? Why watch about it.

And both casts were equally stereotyped to hell and cliched. But the second generation was far better IMO because it was more balls out and grown up. A bit more Shameles esque.

thats a good point..i just think i prefered the first cast because they were more likeable as in id rather be friends with them in real life.

Yeah, I agree. The only likeable characters IMO are Pandora and JJ and the cast (bar Cook, Katie at a push) are a bunch of Michelles (people don't love her, but don't hate her.) Whereas the last cast were mainly very loveable (Sid, Cassie, Chris) or you loved to hate them (Tony, Sketch.)

That's a very confusing rant.

From everything that has been released so far it seems they'll be focusing more on Emily and Naomi this season, which is the best thing to do, no one really gave a **** about the whole Cook > Effy < Freddie thing, and that entire storyline wasted what could've been a brilliant last episode of Series 3. But infact, it was episode 9 (Katie + Emily's) episode that should've been the last, really.

Yeah I think the producers thought the whole Freddie vs Cook vs JJ (sort of) over Effy was the major storyline that everybody would love. But I prefer the whole Emily vs Katie and Emily <3 Naomi storylines. I hope they concentrate on them 3 more this series. Pandora and Thomas were hardly shown aswell.
