The traditional communion wafers served during Roman Catholic and a lot of other denominations communion services are made out of two ingredients, wheat flour and water, no additives or seasonings. They are made by nuns, in fact its the main source of income for some orders. Although for some people gluten free breads made from soy or potato flours are used
Some churches use pita bread, even normal table bread. And in an emergency where the normal wafers(hosts) cannot be obtained most denomintaions have sanctioned the use of any replacement bread like substances. For example after the 2004 Indonesian Tsunami at least one Catholic priest celebrated mass using portions of cream crackers as a substitute. |

You have to have the sacrament of Eucharist for the first time in a special ceremony which is just about holy bread.
Confirmation is about renewing the promises your parents made to God during your baptism.
