WTF @ Ben's Hair getting 10 votes I would've thought people would find the arm much creepier.

What's fooked up is, using Steve's injuries from a terrorist bomb, for cheap laughs and a ridiculous poll.

Its called black humour and as an ex serviceman especially one who has been injured he will more than likely appreciate the dark humour in the thread. As they used to say, shouldnt have joined up if you dont have a fucking sense of humour.

Pedantics! I think most soldiers would have pretty much considered it a war zone - it was just as dangerous - as Steve's case clearly demonstrates!

Yeah, I'm well aware of the saying... You really don't have to tell me about servicemen or ex-servicemen. And I agree, their sense of black humour is brillaint and a lot of the time is what pulls them through. But the people poking fun, especially the OP I suspect, are not servicemen, ex or otherwise. Don't think you speak for all service personnel, epecially those who have been injured or are close to someone who has been injured. Like only Jews can make fun of the Holocaust, only squaddies can rip the p1ss out of other squaddies. It's not appreciated when civvies do it.

No not pendantics at all, fact. Before deploying to the province and continually during all detachments all servicemen working out there know its a police action and they are deployed in support of the local power, this is emphasised continually during pre deployment training then reinforced throughout during any in theatre training.

No it wasnt as dangerous as a war zone, inless you have been involved in wars, peace keeping operations and aiding the civil powers that is a totally ill informed comment.

Thats why servicemen hate peace keeping duties and COIN (counter insurgency - anti terrorist operations) their hands are tied, you have to operate under stricter rules of engagement which means their hands are tied in being unable to strike first, respond in the event of a contact. or carry out counter strikes.

Illinformed - maybe - but Northern Ireland was a pretty dangerous place to be for British soldiers a few years ago. Plenty of soldiers died there - maybe not as many as in a war zone, I don't know, but too many nevertheless!

Yes too many needless deaths, too many injuries, a lot of hurt for everyone involved with or living in the Six Counties.

And if you want to know the truth, it was all British Politicians fault, lots and lots of bad mistakes maybe done with good intent but bad mistakes none the less.

Lots of brave men on both sides lost their lives to get to where we are today because of the political setup.

the idea that wen the welsh wizard talks about warm feelings in his belly and jesus love and high on gods love etc he is talking about some bizarre sexual orgies that happen in RL am i right in thinking he shaves all his bod hair too? maybe he is a nudist or wears only his robe?

or the idea that one of quavers relatives planted the bomb that steves accident she got so offended when JJ asked if ireland was part of UK

or the idea that scabby katchagoogoo was abused by a family member early in life and ben reminds her of the abuser
after all she hates men and does speak posh

Of course it was the big bad Brits that murdered children in Warrington.

People who plant bombs in civilian areas are not brave men, quite the opposite.
And where are we today? No change, all those deaths and N.Ireland is still part of the UK,quite rightly.
Adams and co hands are dripping with blood.
