Default Fame Academy - It WILL be back!!!

Especially for you, Splodge - READ THIS!

Quote:
Fame Academy, the £4.5m reality show that was dubbed "Lame Academy" by critics before belatedly becoming a ratings success, is making a surprise return to BBC1.

. . . . . . . . .

Auditions for the next series will begin around the country shortly. Although a BBC spokeswoman refused to confirm when the series would be broadcast, it is likely to go out in autumn with Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty again presenting.
Hurray!!!

Best news I've had for days. I agree Splodge - fan-bloody-tastic indeed

As a lot of you know I loved this show and I'm so glad the BBC have seen sense and recommissioned it. A lot of people on various sites on the net have literally bombarded the Beeb with emails and petitions demanding it's return. It seems that this, coupled with the success of Celeb FA may have done the trick.

But sounds like I will miss the beginning again , if it starts around the same time of year as last time

I don't think we're doing to bad these days with BB, CELEB BB, FAME, CELEB FAME AND I'M A CELEB GET ME OUT, They also seems to be well spread out through the year to keeps us going.

Whoopeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm absolutely delighted with this news.

I'm one of the people who bombarded the BBC with pleading emails, by the way, Peachy!!

If it is on at the same time as Pop Idol, em, I'll be watching Fame Academy. No contest.

I'll also definitely be watching Fame Academy if it's on at the same time as Pop Idol. Like you Mairi, I also bombarded the Beeb.

I love it when a plan comes together, as someone once said. Well done us band of FA fans!

There were actually very few people, Katy was certainly one of them, who didn't play a musical instrument, Steve.

Nearly forgot to mention . . . . . did anyone else see the advert on BBC1 tonight (I think it was before or after Eastenders) for Fame Academy 2, inviting people to apply to come along to the auditions for the new series.

That really brought it home to me that there WILL be a second series!

I'm also pleased FA is coming back. It's a really good showcase for people who undoubtedly have talent but just need the opportunity to show it to a wider audience.

Did you not watch it last year then Steve? You should give it a go - you never know, you may find someone there you like and who does the sort of music you're into - maybe a bit of ABBA?? (Fab group - loved them).

anyone who emailed and asked for another series -

what did yous ay in your emails because I'm seriously hoping this time round, since it looks as though it is against PI2, that they show some audition stuff so people can chose their favourites early on, and also for nightly shows like BB. Did anyone mention this kind of thing in their emails?

Im already lookin forward to it! PI is just kareoke to me now after FA.
