The ghost of Liam Connor will make a shock return to Weatherfield to put the willies up bin man Trevor Dean.

Trevor will be forced out of town by the ghost of boyfriends past.


Liam, who was murdered by Tony Gordon, proves he’s still got a hold over his lover Carla Connor even from beyond the grave.


Fans have watched as Trevor (Steve Jackson, 35) has become Carla’s knight in shining armour.


But it’s not long before the shine wears off. After hiring him as her assistant, Carla (Alison King, 36) soon realises he’s not up to the job of her lover or her assistant and cruelly dumps him.


She storms: “You’re an embarrassment to me. It’s just not working is it?

“We’re not working, the job’s not working, none of it is working.”


Trevor snaps back: “Go and stuff yourself Carla. Stuff your job and stuff what we had together.”


And he goes on to claim their romance was doomed from the start because they are haunted by Liam.


He tells her: “Your trouble is you’re still in love with a dead man. No-one will ever measure up to precious Liam. Not me and certainly not the next mug who falls for you.”


Carla hisses: “Yes, you’re right. So pack your things, get out now and never come back.”

I have read stories over the years about cast members experiencing different supernatural experiences.

I read an interesting post on DS, that The Rovers and Underworld are the two main settings in the show, and how they always run parrallel to each other

I think they are bothreally important to that show, and who runs both the pub and the factory they consider carfully.

I think you have to be a certain type of character for both jobs and who runs it determins the stories that play out there. I don't think they always get it right i.e Luke strong.

In every pub the soap is the most central and the heart of the community. Isn't the highest honour a soap character have to become the land lady/landlord?
I know in coronation Street they always make a big deal when someone becomes a barmaid.

They see the pub as an almost the theatre space of the soap. were they play out all of the drama to the audience. The people behind the bar in run it are usually in the thick of the action and an important character or family i.e The Mcdonalds.

I do think underworld is really important because it gathers characters together and you need a strong character to lead it, and pull that all together. I think Carla is just brilliant at it and the best there has been after Mike Baldwin.

I think I read somewhere lately that both The Rovers and The Factory worlds arent really allowed to mix either, and is like a different terriotary on different sides of the street on purpose

I know what it was. It was an article with Alison King talking a while back now about how she never works with Katheine Kelly, Even though they are part of the same show and have had big stories in the last few years between them, they havent interacted at all and those stories have not ever met. She said they had both come up with ways to get them to share scenes together and they always got told a firm 'NO'.

one of the main reasons they were told 'NO', was because they had been purposely put in those different mannors and the stories that occur in those places don't really mix.

I remember thinking at the time that I can't remember the boss of the factory and whoever has the main stories behind the bar at the Rovers, ever really interacting in the others stories. I think Mike Baldwin once had a thing with Bet Gilroy but it was very very short lived.

Can anyone else remember if the two worlds have come together alot and was part of each others stories?

It would be great to see Carla and Becky in scenes together! :P
