Default Do you think the housemates are really that manipulative?

Are housemates really consciously making decisions to further themselves in the game? I'm not so sure.

We're all human beings and we certainly can all be hypocrites. I remember having these arguments last year about Rodrigo ad infinitum. It doesn't make a person a wicked witch if they say something which contradicts what they've already said.

Maybe I'm just naive and I can't see what "evil" Josie or Corin are doing. I think John James is a prat, very childish and extremely bitchy (all personality traits which I think should go noticed by the public); but even I wouldn't go so far as to say he is knowledgeably twisting the game for his own manipulative game plan. I just don't think he understands that bitching doesn't solve anything.. He doesn't bitch to turn other people away from anyone else, that is just an outcome of his behaviour.

Corin for instance. I believe she is a kind, genuine girl. Over the last two and a half months, she's fell out with a couple of people and okay, yes she's had a couple of blazing rows. The whole "D***head" thing was unpleasant viewing, but it doesn't reflect necessarily on her character - I don't think. If Corin has proven anything to me, it's that she is a strong willed character. Just because she's had a big blow up with John James and Sam, doesn't make her a "vile, manipulative" individual and I wouldn't judge her entire performance on the back of that -- because I don't believe she consciously decided to be manipulative in that way, or in the way it's perceived.

John James, on the other hand, has spent the last two and a half months moaning, bitching, fighting, causing arguments, falling out with the vast majority of his housemates. It's relentless. In my opinion, the two of them can't be compared.

In my opinion, housemates should be judged on their overall actions, what I've seen with my own eyes, and not with what I *think* is going through their heads as to their motivations.

I think it's a sad indictment on today's society in the way that people perceive events and really vilify people for actions which could have happened spontaneously, spur of the moment, and more than likely lead to regret from the housemates themselves.

I think a lot of people are very cynical about housemates, who at the end of the day, are just like you and me.

I don't think Corin is fake either. She's happy most of the time, if somebody winds her up she loses her temper. Seems perfectly normal to me.

JJames has the same problem that Rex had. They are both naturally miserable and opinionated. They cannot understand that people can be happy with their lives. So they call naturally happy people fake. I don't now how Rachel put up with the 10 weeks of rant from Rex. Perhaps because she had a loving family and a very attractive fiancee.

JJ and Rex both think having money means happiness. It does not.
