I barely did anything for GCSE, but A Levels really need it.

Used to read over all my notes, sometimes make mind-maps and did sticky notes for English Lit.
I also had this really helpful teacher who printed me out loads of past papers for every subject I took, they helped a lot. |

Either don't revise or just read through the notes I've made in class.
Don't know whether I'll bother revising this year or not |

GCSE's I never revised for and I got 11 A*-C's.
But A-levels and my degree I had to revise for as these were in-depth subjects and really needed it. I found mind maps and sticky notes were really helpful. I didn't think they would be, but they sunk into my mind more than I realised so when the exams came I was able to retrieve the info I needed. ![]()

I read my notes/textbook or I make mind maps. Making mind maps takes me like ages though, cause I tend to go overboard with drawings on them.

I only revised for all of my exams a day or two before my exam and just tried to store as many main facts, figures, equations etc. as possible in my head, write all the stuff I'd remembered on an empty page first of all then just come back to it while doing the exam, seemed to work ok for me.

Other: cheat - buy clipnotes or memorise them. I got the highest mark ever in Scotland for my higher english (98%) and I only read the clipnotes for the poetry and a Shakespeare. It is easier to memorise them than the crapola you don't really want.
I couldn't be arsed with a Shakespeare play or analysing the Lovesong of J Alfred Fuprorock poem - just cheat. So long as you can hold the clipnotes in yer head, it is easy. Last edited by Claymores; 02-04-2011 at 02:49 PM. |

Who actually cares about the Shakespeare you have to read/analyse for your A Level?! Just do clipnotes for higher mark rather than a personal interpretion.
All the girlies who did 6th year studies of English who go lower than 98% than me I just 2 fingered to them and the teacher. The teacher got demoted :-) |

I never revised for GCSE's but for A levels its different.
For maths I just go over past papers alot, and the teachers make us posters with all the equations etc we need to remember on. If I can't do a question the i'll get help and then look over the topic again. Then for geography, biology and chemistry I rewrite notes into a simpler form with all the important information. And do a few past papers. |

I read my books/revision guides and make notes. I sometimes answer mock exam papers and I DO attened after school revision sessions. I don't do mindmaps , storyboards etc as we do loads of them in some of my classes
